Imaginative Food, Comfortable Atmosphere

LA Zucca does not deserve 5 stars. It earns at least 6. The vegetarian dishes are at the top of our list. We came here on our last trip to Venice 10 years ago, and the food has kept it's imagination, presentation, and depth. This is a place to treat yourself to. Do not miss the... read more

Never fails to impress and that's reflected by the absolute need to book for one of the two sittings - 19:00 or 21:00. A small restaurant with very fresh and interesting flavours attracting locals and travellers alike. Great wines and fresh ingredients keep us coming back. Eaten here on each of last three visits.

As a pumpkin-addict, I really enjoyed their pumpkin flan. Never find any dish like that anywhere else, so definitely give it a try! The price is reasonably cheap for a Venetian restaurant. Easily fully-booked, so reserve a table 1-2 days before. Their vegetarian lasagna was one of the best lasagna I have ever had, that my father had to order... More

Great atmosphere, great service, great food can be foud at La Zucca. Great fish, pasta and fegato alla venezian. The four of us ate ourselves into delicious oblivion for a bit over €100. Service left nothing to be desired. Enjoy yourselves here when in Venice!

As this restaurant is small and popular, a reservation is definitely needed. There are varied choices for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners. The pumpkin flan though was excellent. We tried a variety of other vegetarian dishes which were tasty and unusual.

We have just come back from three days in Venice and on two of those days we ate at La Zucca. The only reason we didn't eat here on the third day was that we had something else organised on the other side of the city. As vegetarians our expectations when we travel are never very high and don't expect... More

We have been to La Zucca many times over the last fifteen years, and have continued to be delighted by its appreciation of food and flavours. The maitre d' was charming on a cold night, and its popularity was reflected in the fact that our table had to be at 9.30p.m. Wine was very good value, bread was fresh and... More

Small amazing with amazing food and many vegetarian dishes. We didn't reserve it and needed to wait about 1 hour for a table, but was time really well spent. We had different starters and pumpkin soup...all of them delicious. Service was perfect and suggested home wine very good. Reasonable prices made us even more happy for such good discovery

We dropped in here early on a Friday evening to see if they had a table, they were booked out but we managed to get the last space on a sharing table on the Saturday evening. We were very glad we did! The food was fantastic. Just to clarify NOT a vegetarian restaurant at all, they just do great vegetable... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
