This restaurant changes its menu daily. They offer many vegetarian choices. They use local ingredients. We had a short wait to be seated. The food was very good. Located away from the crowded areas. You find this restaurant by accident or recommendation if you are a tourist. It's open for lunch until 2:30 and then closes until dinner.

The staff was really nice and explained the menu that was written in Italian for us in English. The food itself was tasty and quite a good value but nothing mind blowing. It would be cheap if it were a dinner, but we had lunch and it cost about €60. It was hard to get a hold of the staff... More

Superb food.House wine really nice to.If you turn up and get a table then you were lucky. This place is really busy with locals which tells you how good it is.Pop in and reserve a table then you won't be disappointed. It is on the edge of a canal and bridge,a really beautiful position. A really nice restaurant far enough from the crowds of Piazza San Marco. We booked in advance luckily as the restaurant was full (Friday night). Excellent food and wine in general, though a little pricey (as for most decent places in Venice). Only one criticism- the meat-based main courses we had were quite basic and pretty small considering the cost... More

There is no English menu in this restaurant as the menu changes daily but the waitress managed to talk us through things. We had lunch here - there will be cheaper options ariound but overall it was good value. Limited seating so booking essential. Great food - interesting vegetarian plate, cold veal with tuna sauce (sounds weird but amazing), lovely... More

We did not have a booking and were the only couple squeezed in on a busy Saturday. The food made it obvious why it is such a popular place and the staff were just as excellent taking their time to work through the menu and how you wanted plates to come out. We had a few vegetarian starters which were... More

Couldn't rave any more about this wonderful restaurant. Easily the best place we ate in all of Italy over a 3 week tour. Amazing variety of creative and beautifully presented food! Veggie's will love it, and my boyfriend (a huge meat eater) couldn't stop talking about the veggie lasagne, he may even have been converted! Make sure to try the... More

Warm welcome by the boss we guess. Very nice and friendly atmosphere. The food for vegetarian and non-vegetarian were tasty. Buritana excellent. Only the first courses arrived while we were still drinking the aperitive. Toilet could be better.

This was the best restaurant we ate at in Venice and a haven for those who prefer vegetables! The soar was delicious, the choice of main courses sufficiently wide without being overwhelming and the wine list interesting. We found the service really helpful and loved the fact that the restaurant was full of locals - a hidden gem!

Honestly the best Italian restaurant in Venice. If you are planning to visit, I highly recommend dining at La Zucca. We had to make a reservation to dine at the restaurant. I highly suggest booking for a table inside, as the restaurant is by a bridge and you'll have many people walking really close to your table. The main waiter... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
