Year after year we return to this small, family owned restaurant on the outskirts of city center. The place is cozy, warm, the wait staff has not changed in years and, the owner (or chef?), well in his 80s, as well as a similarly aged lady are always on top of every table and waiter. The appetizers are always fresh,... More

Lovely ambient also for business lunches. The fish is simply excellent and the owner is time to time visiting the Sala to collect feedback. If you are around, just try it.

This restaurant is fantastic choice for gurmans, who prefered the fishes, this is right place. Very good fresh fishes - a lot of different kind of fishes. Really fresh. Fantastic starter with fresh raw fishes, various grilled another fishes with tasty Italian wines. Highly recommend to visit this restaurant.

Zafferano is located just a few steps from the NH Mantegna hotel, walking across the esplanade. It is rather small, modern, well-lit, featuring a full bar. Service is friendly and efficient. The old chef (owner?) and his wife continue to mingle with the guests, giving extra attention and making sure all customers are well cared for. The menu has a... More

We visited this restaurant as it was just across from the hotel we were staying at. It looks like the owner is completely oriented on local regulars and doesn't really care about any foreign visitors that happen to come. We were waiting for the waiters to come and take orders for a long period of time, while all local people... More

The intimate atmosphere, attentive service, and excellent food at this seafood restaurant made our last evening in Padua quite wonderful. This family owned gem will not disappoint. This would not be a choice for those traveling on a tight budget but is a great choice for a "last night" celebration.

On a business trip to Milano and Padua I was invited to dine at the Zafferano, and my host was already praising the food and wine on the ride from Milan. So when we finally got there I was not only hungry, but also excited! For the main course we went with one of the Specials of the Day, which... More

Pricey but good. I had a starter and a pasta with a glas of prosecco and the bill was about € 40 The quality of food is very good, but the portion are rather small I would suggest it

A wide choice of fish, good service. May be a little bit expensive, but was fine. Located near the NH hotel, and not far from Best Western Galileo, I guess it "steals" the hotel guests from a dinner in the hotel restaurant.
