As a weary, stranded traveler in Bolzano (thanks to an ill-timed strike that put the kibosh on my first ever sleeper car experience), making my way to Rome, I decided to pay a visit to Batzen Bräu and the Batzen Häusl for a meal and a sample of fine South Tyrolean micro-brew. It was a Saturday night, warm and CROWDED!... More

One of the oldest breweries in town, the Batzehäusel is a good idea for a traditional dish and of course a couple of beers. Prices are pretty fair and in summer time you can just sit in front and enjoy the warm sun. Try out!

The restaurant is adequate both for cold and warm times. It has beautiful rooms inside (1. floor) and a biergarten (terrace). The place brews its own beer, which is delicious. Don't miss the chance to be there.

We visited when it was raining so it was very crowded inside. The staff helped find a seat for our large group and the service was awesome. Everyone in our group loved their meal. The menu has a good variety of options. Would definitely visit again!

We really loved this brewery with typical food! The atmosphere was great, you can check the brewery machines, they serve super typical sausages nothing at all like the italian dishes. This is a place to really confirm that "I am about to cross the austrian border" feelling that all of Bozen holds.

This was recommended to us by front desk clerk at our hotel. It was out of the main town in a residential area. Well worth the wandering to find. We sat at the bar. Placed was filled with locals, most of them students and young professionals. Make their own beer - we are huge IPA fans and they have an... More

We came here to try out the locally brewed beer and were rather enchanted by the beautiful garden and cheerful atmosphere. The list of beers looks very interesting though not all was available at the time of visit. The white beer was very nice and fruity as the description in the menu. Would like to return fir the local tyrolean... More

My second visit - I'm an occasional visitor to Bolzano - so I made a beeline for the Batzenhaus. The food is "herzlich" / affordable rather than haute cuisine, but the thing that will bring you here (unsurprisingly) is the fresh and tasty beer - the dunkel does it for me.

Usually we go to Cavallino Bianco but it was closed. So we decided to go to this very close place. We choose padella dell'artista or something like this, the most expensive dish in order to try a local food. The meat and the potatoes are very old and not well done. We complain with the un-polite waiter and he said... More
