I've been twice at Mare Nostrum, and again nothing to claim.... Excellent menu, often refreshed and renewed, Very expert and mild preparation of each dish, even thosethat could have traditionally 'strong' taste very wide cantina with good and some uncommon labels... Simply, bear in mind to book well in advance...

Our friends recommended this place, and it was a highlight of our days in Turin. Down a side street near the river; dark and cozy, with distressed wooden tables. We have passable Italian, but couldn't decipher the menu. Bit the bullet and asked if they spoke English, which is not always a popular question. The host immediately launched into a... More

If you are looking for fish, this is the place in Torino. Southern Italian fish type of kitchen served professionally and at a good price/quality ratio - although we are talking high end type of restaurant here. A refresh of the whole place would be great as it starts looking slightly old. Well done overall!

If you like fish, a place where to go. Mare Nostrum it's an institution in Turin. Close to one of the most beautiful place in Italy ( P.zza Vittorio), you'll taste fresh fish in a nice and typical location. Regional recipes, good ingredients mix, you'll find a variety of different fishes cooked and mixed in harmony. As a dessert, highly... More

This was not my first visit to Mare Nostrum. On this particular evening we ate as part of a Slow Food Torino event. The seventeen different dishes (small!!) and the selection of wines were absolutely delicious. Despite the large number of guests (and dishes) the food was at a standard I had experienced on other occasions and the service impeccable;... More

Very good food. That's taking both price and quality in account. We had the menu and it was more then enough and I'm big eater. Deserts are also very good. Nice and friendly service too. Really can't say anything negative about this place.

We made reservation just to be sure but arrived a bit too early. The owner set us up in a room where the waiter, Alex, can converse in English. Owner offered us prosecco while we waited to be served. He recommended the Antipasti misti of various kind of fishes. Followed by a little spicy Maccarruni (spaghetto casalingo) and Caserecce lunghe... More

This restaurant was recommend to us by a local person. Location is very close to Piazza Vittoria and the river Po. It's in a calm street, you only notice the restaurant once you're in front of it. I though the interior design and atmosphere was very nice, casual, authentic. Staff was friendly; one manager took his time to give some... More

I must admit that I rarely visit such classy restaurants, but our friend had it recommended by his hotel. We were sceptical at first, but we changed our tune. We had a great meal and we waited for the bill with trepidation, but were glad to see that we were not taken for a ride. It is not a cheap... More

We had dinner here on a Saturday evening and had to reserve a place since it is quite popular. We loved the relaxed and sobre atmosphere. It is all about good food and company. We thought the price was not too high for the great quality that was offered. A place you have to go to when you are in... More
