Wonderful - highly recommended!

We went back to this place after almost four years and were certainly not disappointed. They offer a great selection of local and Italian wines (which can also be bought by the bottle to take home) and great Italian cuisine. All dishes were cooked and prepared to perfection and served with flair and friendliness. The zabaglioni I had for dessert was an instant crush on me, and the Barbaresco wine we had highly ranks among the best we have ever had.

Great food and excellent wine, amazing staff

We loved every minute of our dinner here. Great local food, with good advise by the staff on the combinations of the food so that we could try many dishes. Really excellent wine, they have many choices. Nice flow with the courses, not too fast and not too slow. A great place to have a dinner!

We went there twice in one week

We went looking for authentic Piemontese cuisine and certainly found it. This is an excellent restaurant with a small but superb menu including some good value tasting menus. I particularly enjoyed the Cruda di Fassone which is basically chopped raw beef and although it was an antipasto I made it last most of the evening. Although pictures of the interior attest to the extent of its wine list the carafes of house red and white were decent quality. We found the staff very friendly and helpful.

It had been a few years since I last visited this restaurant, but the quality is still there. Some dishes are fantastic, others are "just" good, none are bad from what I can tell. Vitello Tonato to start was quite good. Of the main dishes we had, the saffron tajarin with ragout & black truffle was the standout. Desserts were ok, but nothing more. Service could be better however as we received an incorrect main. It was replaced, obviously, but I would have appreciated something more than simple, reluctant, sorry. Wine list is great, but some bottles are a tad overpriced.

My husband and I were visiting friends in Turin and they took us to dinner at the Taberna Libraria! The food was perfection as it looked amazing and tasted even better. The ambiance was purely Piedmont Italian and the service superb. I would highly recommend this treasure of a restaurant to all visiting Turin.

They have a wonderful fix price menu and a fantastic selection of wines to go with your meal. The service was impeccable. We were accommodated even though we did not have a reservation, but reservations are recommended.

Wonderful local food

This is probably the fourth or fifth time that I enjoyed this restaurant, and once again I was not disappointed. The restaurant serves local food with a special fish menu, beef menu and a vegetarian menu. One can also pick and mix between the different menus. The wine selection is impressive and the service is fantastic. This time I tried the fish menu. Wonderful place for a group. The prices are fair.

Great food and wine

We loved the food at this restaurant. We chose the degustazione piedmintese which was a four course traditional meal. Really very nice and at a reasonable price. We asked for a red wine to be recommended. The waitress was very knowledgeable and selected an affordable bottle of nebbiolo. Bookshead because this restaurant is rightly very popular.

Lovely restaurant / great service

This is a lovely little restaurant with great service. Great with allergies and spoke English / had an English menu. Enjoyed the wine and the local 3 meats pasta. Plate of meats with burrata to start was also delicious. The stuffed courgette ( mozzarella and prawn) was good on flavour but served slightly soggy which took away from the dish. Nice stop off place when in Turin.

Went here yesterday evening without a reservation, although we did call in advance just to be sure of getting a table. Not crowded on a wednesday evening, and the expirience was wonderful. Extreamly friendly staff, one girl spoke very good english and was our waitress for the evening. We had two courses each and it was fantastic, highly recommend the parmesan-and-truffle pasta! They have an extensive winelist which is very very resonably priced compared to home. Hard to chose from about 20 different barolos we got a recommendadion from the staff and were very pleased. Finished with espresso and two different grappas (one from asti and from barolo) and stayed until they closed. So happy we Went here, would definatly come again! Good for vegetatians, didn't miss a thing! :)

we were 10 minutes late and the lady at the restaurant shouted to the other: finally the arrived! well, she - at that moment - didnt know yet, that we know italian very well... not a nice welcome. and just a remark: there were still tables available... well, her service remained hat bad. not friendly and professional at all! BUT the cook is awesome! very delicious and fresh cooking variations. we had fish and meat. both were very yummy!

Excellent Turin

Struggling to find anywhere to eat on a saturday night in the centre of Turin we came across this place less than 10 metres from our airb&b. What a find. Brilliant food, good wine and super service, even though we were outside and at extremely reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Amazing Piedmontese Food!

Was only going to be in Turin for a couple of hours and really wanted to have a traditional Piedmont meal and we found it! Restaurant was very nice and service was also great. The food was amazing - one of the best pork dishes I have ever had! It was covered in a plum sauce and it was great! My husband got the Traditional Piedmontese Tasting Menu and he was loving it! Great stop, so glad we could get a table!
