We went in the evening. They open at 8pm and it seems they like to seat everyone about then, as everyone is served the same set menu. But what a menu - and we were offered seconds of everything! Don't take them though- you'll never make it to the end. The delightful waitresses just flew around depositing their divine dishes... More

Well worth a visit. Great food, set menu. If you're a fussy eater then maybe not the place for you, but if you like to try new things then this is perfect. Good choice of wine at reasonable prices. First class service with a smile.

Very nice setting and spacious green safe space outside for children to play. Excellent food. It's a set menu of several small sized beautiful courses and the birthday cake was very light and fresh. Definitely would go back again.

Hidden away above lake Orta, you will find a cosy agritourism where you can enjoy a delicious set menu of not only house made dishes but also bred and grown on the premises. The menu changes each week and consists of a mixed entree of cold cuts, cheese and other interesting nibbles. A taste of 2 different pasta dishes and... More

Agreable site “agritourism” style with restaurant and rest rooms. Meals are typical of the place and region (Piedmont). Prevail: meat, sausages, pickles, pasta , rice, soft cheese- dresses, cakes. Everything is home-cooked. Cheap prices. Bring to notice that the site is very close to railway, Not far from Orta railway station. On the contrary, the site is about half an hour,... More

A cucchiaio is a big spoon, and it's a good metaphor for this very homey restaurant where everyone gets the same meal, at the same time, the courses flowing out of the kitchen smoothly and in amazing numbers. Be warned: the quantity of food that will arrive on your table is more than a normal person can eat, so pace... More

This restaurant was advised by friends and was one of the best for our vacation. The food is typical italian and the ingredients fresh/ biological. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a diner in a real italian setting + food.

If you like to eat with the local Piedmonte people and not with the other tourists - go to "Il Cucchiaio di Legno" nir Lago Orta. It serves fixed menue consists of local different kinds of Anti-pasta, Pasti and rissoto and meats (chicken and lamb in the oven). The prices are fair (25 Euros per person) and you can enjoy... We visited for a Sunday evening dinner. We enjoyed a family-style meal of: pork salami with fezzetto & cantaloupe melon, salmon cured in cognac with tomatoes on toast, risotto with local mushrooms, pasta ragù bolognese, the main house, lambs' ear salad, chicken with pancetta, beef carpaccio with celery, and hazelnuts & almonds in merengue all with little cookies with raspberry...
