We travelled a couple of weeks back in a group of 4. The staff at Sarla (lead by their owner Mr Shekhar Reikhi) are extremely welcoming. They made sure we got the best table especially as we were tired from shopping the whole day! The relaxed cool tone of the place complements its hot, delectable food. All 4 of us... More

It"s not easy to find this restaurant in the darkness, but well worth the effort, when you get there. The food is excellent an also the choice of wine to go with it was perfect. Nice atmosphere and smily waiters. Enjoy!😃

We found this restaurant as it is close by to our hotel. It's Indian cuisine and ideal when you want something other than Italian food. The restaurant itself doesn't look like much inside or out, and the man who owns it is a little on the grumpy side but the food is nice. It's not outstanding but it's okay :-)

Reasonably decent restaurant with traditional Indian culture ambiance. Manager who refers himself as DON was welcoming and suggested few dishes. Its a bit in secluded place , we took a while to find it. Follow google maps.

The man running this restaurant really needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. He is rude, arrogant and can best be described the Indian version of Basil Fawlty but with no redeeming qualities. His one only side kick is somewhat like Manuel. It is under staffed, because the officious owner want to have complete control of everything... More

After reading the trip advisor reviews we thought it was good to try this Indian restaurant out. So I booked a table online with the offer of a 25 percent discount. The older gentleman who served us was unwelcome and not friendly all through our meal. The starters were served with no pakora sauce. The main course of chicken tikka... More

We visited Sarla twice during our European vacation. It offers a traditional menu and serves very tasty Indian cuisine. The crowd was minimal at our early dining hours, but quickly started filling in at 8 or so, when the locals typically have dinner. Sarla is a go-to place for our future visits to Milan.

Good indian restaurant with authentic food. Owner is helpful and staff is good. Authentic food but felt little short staffed when the restaurant was full to capacity.

Staying in Navigli

Neighborhood Profile
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
