It was not meant to be. A bad night cause happen to everyone, one of the chef can call in sick at the last, but it's the way you deal with those problems that changes the experience for a guest. Sitting down and hearing your...waiter tell you "this morning I took a sleeping pill and I am still half asleep" is certainly not a great start... We waited 50 minutes for the starters, which were just "crostini" (toasted bread) and certainly don't require a chef. The fiorentina steak took 30 more minutes, and arrived not rare but still mooing and bleeding... It would have sufficed to apologise from the beginning and explain the delaysMore

We looked for a late dinner after a long flight within closest proximity from our B&B. K2 Trattoria Toscana was the closest open place with no crowd without outside sitting. Seemingly, it supposed to be not a popular restaurant if you don't see any crowd...( well, that is my own observation from previous trips). But, we got there anyway. To make a story short. We liked it so much, that we returned 5 times there. Logically thinking we had to try different places ( and we did) and returned and returned again. Menu has no English and staff is speaking very little. And, regardless we had everything we wanted and it was so much fan + excellent homemade food, that we always had a great mood after leaving the restaurant. Guys have absolutely Italian sense of humour, and that was a very positive additive for our table. Wines: 13 Euros any bottle. We had 3 of them and all were good. The best we liked and it was recommended first I post in photos attached to this post. If you gonna stay in the neighbourhood , K2 is a Must thing on your list. Thank you guys very much! Ciao! P.S. Tiramisu is the best in the World :)More

We love this place. Great food, great prices. The only reason I give it a 4 is because it can sometimes take a while to order - you have to make sure to get the waiter's attention. Other than that, it's amazing.

Chose to eat here cause the ristorante we wanted to eat at was closed. Thought "trattoria" was good homestyle cooking. Was very average. Not cause we were tourists and couldnt read the menu. It was explained to us. Just very basic cooking. Like a child...made it...wouldn't bother going if you're reading this!More

No-nonsense setting, the food is ok though not excellent. I have to add that the service was very severe and emotionless. Food quality however was nice (especially the secondi). Funny to see that Italian clients however got free grappa while we did not (and we...ordered in Italian as we live in the city). Next time we go for something where we can experience the Tuscan atmosphere.More

Great place to have dinner with friends or beloved ones. A special atmosphere, cozy and familiar. Easy. Basic but true. The perfect place to eat at especially after a stressful day. When not too busy this trattoria makes you feel at home, a proper italian.... Don t miss "filetto al pepe verde" , " tagliatelle ai funghi" and "tagliata di manzo al pepe e rosmarino". Enjoy it!More

Awful! what a scandal !!! Kindly let me explain better: Along with a bunch of friends, we’ve decided to go along with the Tripadvisor comments and pick K2 for our season reunion and have some good laughs while sitting around the table and enjoy an...easygoing evening. No one from the group was expecting to eat in a “ three Michelin stars “ restaurant and we were very happy with whatever the menu was offering. So we went for what was the most expensive red wines on the list as well having the most expensive T-bone steak Fiorentina hoping in getting no matter what a good quality while raising the bar! So we did, sides and main meal was alright even though a RARE Steak came after a well done ONE no matter we’ve ordered the two steaks at the same time. On the other hand, their wine was anyway coming from poor farm even though the owner pretended to sell it as a very good label: both chianti and nebbiolo were alike and both were tasting vinegary. But again, we couldn’t care less .we were there for the group and not for the food or the wine… until a minute before asking the bill , we wanted to clarify what was the reason of the 10% Service charge besides the 1.50Euros extra fee for bread and seats ( so called coperto) Therefore we called the manager / owner running the place asking explanations. (It took around 20 minutes to reach his attention to finally get him to the table). Hence, Reasons for the 10% service were poorly explained and even though we couldn’t get it while carrying on debating on it, we were insulted telling us it was a SHAME asking such question while being pointed to be the ones “ stupid” to have not noticed the 10% service topic considering it was anyway listed in the menu next to the 1.50euros COPERTO. To cut it short, since we made a big fuss out of it, the manager promised us to have it removed the final bill considering that we were apparently acting and behaving as good clients by ordering whatever was listed to be the most expensive dishes and drinks . So, the story ends with him telling us one thing and charging us double! How silly from the manager . The final bill was 170Euro added of an extra 17euros of 10% service … but to be honest, we were ready to give a 25euros TIP if anything of this wasn’t happening… this is one of the few example on how NOT to run a restaurant besides of not being accommodating and reasonable! I won’t give him a 1 Star comment but TWO, because after all the meat was good and somehow even our discussion at the table made it part of the evening. Just a tip to who’s reading this : please don’t be fooled by their menu. Go and eat there but be ready to pay an extra 10% of your bill for NOTHING besides the 1.50euro extra cost for sitting at their table and being served. Very silly indeed ! Ciao EpiMore
