With my wife and mother in law (so imagine...), walking about for Navigli district, we stopped for dinner in this traditional Hosteria with roots into historical cuisine from Milano and Padana plain. Not the first time there, it's always a delicious experience with typical touch of the owner, real passionate for one-off selection of ingredients. Great canteen; Definitely suggested.

Our hotel was able to get us a reservation for the "White Rabbit" restaurant on a very busy night. The outdoor seating while very enticing comes at a risk! The Navigli mosquitoes come out around 10:00 PM and are relentless! We opted to eat inside the restaurant. The manager took our order and recommended a superb red wine. I had the... More

Since one year, I am regularly have lunch on Sunday when I travel with my wife to Milan. The food is great with several options: typical dishes as well as specialties of dish of the day. The staff is very professional and attentive. Do not forget to book in advance, otherwise it is hard to find a table!

Easy to find restaurant. The waiter was charming and offered some sound wine advice. We both chose the squid to start off with (gorgeous) and I finished with the Rabbit. Overall a very pleasant experience!

This district in Milan is a must visit but there are many tourist traps when looking for a nice eating house. Al Coniglio Bianco take on their task with passion. They love the food and vino they offer and so did we. Bravo!

We went there for a Milan friend advice she said is lovely place. Is quite rustic to be honest, and the food was good 6/10 I guess. Not a really special flavour in my dish (rissoto a la milanese with osobuco) we check al the restaurants around and is the most expensive. The waiters fight between them in front of... More

Milan is an odd city - a lot of the quality restaurants are out of the centre, and that's certainly the case in the Navigli district. After struggling to find a venue the previous night Navigli had loads of choices, and we plumped for this venue. I had the tagliatelle with a wild boar rugu, my wife the pesto and... More

This is a nice Italian restaurant (Milan special) on the south side of Milan, away from hussle and bussle). This is in the area of Navigli, a trendy area by the canal or river that becomes vibrant at night. (just outside Metro Porta Genoa). Very friendly staff will make you comfortable and typical Milanese menu (fried veal, fish etc in... More

fully booked on Saturday night so tried again on Sunday night and after about ten minutes wait got the last table. And was it worth it; you bet it was! As the restaurant is called white rabbit it would be foolish to have anything else. I have eaten rabbit on literally hundreds of occasions but this was among the very... More

I was looking for a traditional milanese-style restaurant. I was happy to find it. The atmosphere inside was beautiful, no music and people talking without shouting.. the true milanese understatement. The service was attentive and helpful and I have to thank the host for the wine suggestion. I had a fantastic risotto alla milanese, which I was really craving for... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighborhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
