My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on our last night of a two week trip to Italy and it was perfect! The restaurant is very cute with green checkered table cloths and great ambiance. It was a Thursday night and when we arrived at 8:30pm, there was one other table there, but the place filled up around 9pm.... More

We've found this restaurant being ranked very high on TA and didn't hesitate to book it while our stay in Milan. Everything we've had was very delicious and the service was a bit of a personal touch which made us feel very comfortable. Please get the recommendations from the staff on what to order as they know best what is... More

Small place so book ahead. The menu and wines were outstanding. I had a pasta with chick peas and while I was skeptical, it was great. My wife's gnocchi was awesome. We shared the Milanese veal. So tasty and tender. Great wine list. Nice casual atmosphere too.

Really enjoyed the food and ambience of this small and friendly Trattoria. After being seated and given the menu, we were soon given a tasty appertizer. I had the Big seafood Raviolli, and her indoors had the beef steak with spinach, followed by some excellent homemade Tiramasu and coffees to finish. Accompanied by a very drinkable and fruityand full bodied... More

Decent food, not expensive, awful Service: 1) is better to serve 2 persons at a table in the same time; I was served several minutes later than my friend, 2) if I ask for a Pinot, tell me you don't have it before bringing me something else, 3) don't tell me that you need the table while I'm still drinking... Friendly venue with good food and local feel. Nothing super gourmet but very enjoyable nonetheless, felt a bit less touristy and more homely fare, including a delicious seafood pasta and octopus starter, good quality steak etc. Would recommend

The trattoria La Colonna in via Santa Maria alla Porta no. 10 offers very tasty pasta dishes at lunch time. Prices are conveniente. Location is down-town Milan. But what I liked the most is the environment in the "cellar" floor. Very cozy, very intimate, warm and nice. Excellent choice for a quick lunch ... or for a longer one also... More

We stumbled upon this trattoria while walking towards the Duomo. We went there for dinner and were treated so nicely that even if the food hadn't been so good, we still would have enjoyed the experience. However, the food was really well prepared and abundant. We had the marinated swordfish and shared it, as it was such a big appetizer.... More

This was by far (leaps and bounds) the best food we had while in Milan. It was romantic and quiet and I'm still thinking about the food. If you are thinking of trying this place, try it!

The building that houses the Trattoria La Colonna is adjacent to the church of S. Maria alla Porta, in the homonymous street. The start dates back to 1922 as "dairy with food service", in a context that bears the scars of the bombings of World War II (whose traces are still visible in the same religious complex).
The restaurant becomes exclusive in the 60s, when the space is transformed into a classic Trattoria surrounded by neighborhood shops, from butcher to tripe. The environment has maintained to this day the atmosphere of a typical Milanese Trattoria and consists of two small rooms, a basement and a ground floor.
This last feature - hence the name of - a large granite column at the center visible and another column that comes out in part by a wall with the shop contigua.Le gastronomic refer to tradition with a touch creativity; among the classic platter of cold cuts and fried dumplings and the risotto alla Milanese. The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
