My wife & I had dinner here & we loved it so much we returned again for lunch. The quirky interior is a perfect blend of traditional & moden. The food is authentic, the wine list is sublime which are all passionately served by the warmest & friendliest of staff. We urge all travellers in Milano to book a table... More

I seldom give a 5 star rating to a restaurant, but Ex mauri is absolutely worth it. It is a small cosy restaurant close to the Garibaldi railway station. Very nicley decorated and absolutely worth a detour. We were lucky, we just walked in after they just opened at 19:30 , no reservation. Shortly after it was packed and people... More

I was taken here by a Milan native who says this is his favorite restaurant in the city and I can see why. This is a charming osteria that serves traditional Italian fare. I couldn't resist the risotto and am glad I had it. I plan to go again on my next trip to Milan.

By all means, visit ExMauri.com, but also, after that, visit ExMauri: not to do so wouldn't just be a pity, it would be a sin! I would never have believed that in a hostile town such as Milan it was possible to eat so well in such an unusual, well looked-after and taken care of atmosphere. I've been there more... More

The location is great, difficult to park. The "Osteria" is nice, cosy and intimate. Food is great and I suggest the "traditional dishes".

Dined here two nights ago and asked for both English and Italian version of menu to assist us in learning/understanding the language. Strangely, we discovered that the two main dishes we were about to order were each 6eu more expensive on the English version of the menu. One dish being lamb chops and the other roast suckling pig and both... More

Simply my favourite in Milan. Italian traditional cuisine revisited with a touch of creativity. Cozy location in a good area. Not so expensive

We ate here with a large group and ordered 4 starters, 6 entrees, and 2 desserts - all to share. It was all fabulous, and if you go you MUST order the pasta which is flambeed on the rind of a parmesan cheese, and served with bacon. It was insanely delicious. Wonderful atmosphere, too. Cozy and authentic without trying too... More

Staying in Stazione Centrale

Neighborhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
