Set on a lovely little square, with plenty of outdoor seating, Tiratappi is slightly unusual in specialising in both Mantuan cuisine and Sicilian cuisine. The reason for this is that the restaurant is in Mantua, but is run by a Sicilian. We tried some of both the Mantuan and the Sicilian items on the menu, and they were all good.... More

We were at Tiratappi on a Tuesday evening, no reservation in what I would consider prime time, around 8:30 pm. They seated us at a lovely table outside, and it seemed that we were the only non-local diners in the space. Wonderful! We had spent a beautiful day touring the city with a friend, so we were just thinking single... More

This might be described as mid priced but it is tops for food ambiance and service. Lovely quiet square and pretty outside tables. Very convenient for center attractions.

We had a nice lunch here. The food was very good. We tried several pasta dishes as well as the octopus salad. It was all very tasty. The service was really very friendly. They were very accommodating and nice with the kids.

we wanted to try Mantovan cuisine, so for antipasto we had a choice of culaccio and grana padano cheese with the famous Mantovan mostarda (jam-like fruit with mustardy taste, great with grana padano!). the waitress brought us local Garda Cabernet wine that really went well with it all. after that we had a rice "alla pilota" with cooked sausage pieces.... We had dinner here because it was recommended by our hotel. It's apparently one of the places to go in Mantua if you are looking to eat fish. I had a fish dish (sea bass?) that was very good and my traveling partner had a macaroni with ragu that is supposedly a very local recipe. Both were quite nice. The... More

Excellent service and food, presented by people who obviously very much care about what they do.... A lovely way to start our stay in Mantova.

Raw prawn is super good. Cooked prawn is just so so. Beef steak is a bit over-cooked but it's common around this area. The bread are served in hot which are very impressive. Waiters are very attentive. They have English menu so it's easy to understand. Prices ate reasonable. Have many choice of wine. So anyway, it's worth to come... More
