We had a great gastronomic experience right in the centre of Mantua. Contrary to most of the touristc Restaurants of the area , Giannino offers you family cuisine, fresh seafood prepared according to the most classic Mediterranean, Neapolitan in particular , recipes. The service is...impeccable and extremely friendly. Very good quality for moneyMore

A great restaurant off the main square. Full of locals and you can tell why. The food is great and the seafood incredibly fresh and affordable. We would highly recommend it....especially the lobster pasta and the tiramisu!

How can I add another star? This place is FANTASTIC! True Neapolitan cuisine with exquisite ingredients and excellent attention to details. Friendly staff, efficient service, bargain prices, what else can you ask for? I had the eggplant parmigiana, tonnarelli with moscardini (very small octopus) and...fried cod. Everything was delicious! The Falanghina wine aptly completed the food. Price was more than reasonable considering the high quality of the meal. Make yourself a favor and eat here! Highly recommended!More

Well, what a wonderful evening we had! We were entertained by the staff and the food was honestly fantastic. Typical Neapolitan hospitality which never fails to warm your heart and make you feel at home. As we now live in Mantova, we will definitely go...back often and enjoy the food and company. Thank you Osteria Da Giannino!More

I had Bosciola di Mare which was very good. It included clams, mussels, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and walnuts. My partner had linguine with scampi. She thought it a bit short on scampi, though it did include mussels and clams. My dessert was called Delizia Al Limone....It was like an iced sponge in a lemon sauce. My partner had tiramisu. We also ordered a bottle of red wine (25 euros). Altogether it came to 79 euros. They were friendly and helpful. The waiter gave us a lid so we could take away the wine we didn't drink. The bread was a dry and tough so I've given it 4 stars but otherwise it was a very enjoyable meal at a reasonable price. Better bread would have warranted five starsMore

We relied on Trip Advisor when finding a place to have lunch in Mantova. We were not disappointed! There were five of us and each ordered something else, so we could try different meals. The Parmiggiana Melanzane appetiser was excellent, so were the Bucattini with...tomatoes and mozzarella. The risotto with cream of pumpkin was delicious, while the Gnochetti sorentina were slightly disappointing. The veal escalope were excellent, so was the fresh fish, served with mussels and a giant shrimp (which we did not order). Th service was very good, but there was hardly anyone in the restaurant at that hour. We came just after 2pm. (Please excuse me if I butchered the Italian spelling of meals.)More
