We passed this little gem of a restaurant several times over the past few days and decided to give it a try this evening. We overheard from the table beside us that it is run by 3 generations - the grandmother, mother and granddaughter. The atmosphere was perfect- beautiful, personal, warm- you were treated like family- and then came the... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant after the one we wanted to visit was closed and I have to say I'm glad we did. We ordered the bruschetta which was delicious - so simple and fresh. I had the mushroom pasta which was a special for the day I believe and again so tasty!!! My partner chose the pumpkin soup which... More

I normally plan each and every retaurant on a trip. Luckily we stumbled upon this cozy retaurant one night. It was so good, we came back the next night. Mostly locals eat here and no wonder. It had an excellent pasta dish with REAL porcini mushrooms (not thiose yellow ones that merely pass). The Vitello Al Tonno was better than... More

A quiet smallish place with an attractive decor. The food (mushroom salad, lake trout) was excellent and the service attentive. The wine selection was good though by-the-glass was limited. The clientele appeared to be all local. It is in the medieval part of Como and not easy to find, but well worth the effort. Knowledge of Italian helps but is... More

I have been coming to Gesumin with my husband for years, as has much of our family. This is a small place that specializes in a few really excellent dishes (ie the porcini dishes when they are in season), and very much has a local feel in terms of the type of food served, how it's priced, and how the... During our week in Como, we ate at this trattoria twice. The food was well-prepared and a good value. Our family of five all enjoyed their dishes, but most especially the lasagna and gnocchi with gorgonzola. The rabbit I had the second night was a pretty skinny bunny, but otherwise the portion size was perfect for us.

Despite nobody in the restaurant we tried the trattoria gesumin. The welcome was friendly, the food pretty good, even if there was not much on the plate, but what a surprise when we paid! It was really too much expensive! I never eat for so much in italy! We strongly advise not to eat there, we won't never come again!

The atmosphere is cosy and informal, and the food is hearty and uncomplicated and home made with fresh ingredients . We especially enjoyed the artichoke salad, made with fresh (not marinated) artichoke hearts. Antipasti portions were generous, but primi piatti portions a bit on the small side. The staff were EXTREMELY friendly and charming, and we really felt we were... More
