This was by far the best dinning experience we had after spending a week in Italy. The owners were lovely and the service was excellent. We ate from the lunch set menu because of its superb value, and we were very satisfied.

An exquisite restaurant combining ambience, excellent service and delicious, beautifully presented, food at a fair price. The restaurant has outside seating, under a canopy, in the garden of this villa or inside a bright dining room. The seafood is particularly recommended. This should not be missed, and the obviously enthusiastic local clientele confirm this by their presence.

The decoration is simple yet elegant, the owner of the Restaurant is very kind and professional. The menu choice is just fine and we loved the food. It is Sicilian cuisine at its highest with an Indian touch, which is more than welcome. The dishes were excellent and the food very fresh and of outstanding quality. I had a cardamom... More

Without then fancy looks of Milan or its design, the place delivers outstandingly in terms of food. From the starters till the desserts it all exceeded our expectations. Simple design on the inside and with a cozy interior terrace, the food was tops. Menu in english if needed and the owner also speaks perfect english. Family environment, a lot of... More

I travelled 2400 miles and 13 hours before I ended in Bergamo and as always took great care where I want to spend my hard earned cash. This place is the real deal. No frills and slightly quirky, but exquisitely prepared food, cooked to perfection with home made desserts to finish off a stupendous meal. The service is all about... More

When in Bergamo don't miss it. Monna Lisa, a family run restaurant not far from the city centre, is a unique experience. The food is top quality and the ingredients are carefully selected among the best in Italy. The recipes are respectful of tradition, but with something new that makes them special. There is a good choice of wine, cheese... More

Very good reviews of Monna Lisa, close to our hotel so we walked over on a Saturday night about 7 p.m. We did not have a reservation I admit, but their online affiliations showed that it was only busy from around 9 p.m. We walked in and asked for a four top - but were told that they were just... We had a wonderfull evening and dinner: nice restaurant, the owners are Italo-British an extremely friendly. My primi was a little too salty, that was the only hick-up. The main dishes were just great!

Description
Monna Lisa grew out of a combination of numerous work and life experiences, in a family which has always worked in the restaurant business. The birth of a daughter... a passion for ancient and traditional art... Sicilian culture which integrates with the Italian character and internationalism of people who like to call themselves 'world citizens'...as reflected in the furnishings, in the wine and in their gastronomic choices. You are received into welcoming atmosphere in a quiet and evocative corner of the centre of Bergamo, where taste , art, culture and traditions combine to offer customers a unique and elegant, yet simple, experience. Everything works in a way to make the customer feel part of the family at Monna Lisa, with care taken not only to please the palate, but also the eyes and ears. The Staff You will find a spirit of sharing and a sense of belonging. The staff of the Monna Lisa are a family: they are an efficient, creative, attentive organisation, which draws on the wealth of experience of its members, who have an extensive experience in the restaurant business. Peoples, each one of integral importance, complete the customer experience from the moment you walk in the restaurant. The dishes on offer are the result of personal experimentation, developed in detail until they deserve a place on the menu. The creativity, the refinement and the management style adopted by staff make Monna Lisa unique of its kind, set apart from the rest. Art through simplicity What makes a dish a 'work of art'? What makes cookery a language? The simplicity of the ingredients, the creativity and passion of the cook : simplicity, high quality and beautiful presentation are three essential principles that guide the choice of the dishes and their creation. At Monna Lisa, the aesthetics and the culinary choices capture the essence of traditional Italian and international cuisine, in all its beauty, harmony and poetry. Seafood specialities, fresh pasta, renowned desserts, use of carefully selected, top quality products, attention to detail, customer care and the 'work of art' created in each dish. That's how something beautiful to look at is also delicious to taste.
