On our Newmarket Holiday trip to beautiful Bergamo we were walking down Via Gambito and popped into the Cavour Pasticceria just to buy some Candies! They looked enticing enough but I saw they had cut up some cake for another customer and asked what is...that?! They said it was Tiramisu though I originally thought it looked like a Vanilla cake. This Tiramisu was perfectly layered unlike too many Tiramisu's I have seen that resemble an Eton Mess! I asked for a slice, plus a cappuccino along with the Candies! It looked perfect and tasted amazing- the best ever that I come across anywhere in Italy! As an unexpected bonus there was a ball of Chocolate Ice Cream. It was as smooth as silk and tasted devine! This place is wonderful and at a very good price. The people in there spoke English too so I was able to convey my thanks for a superb visit to there shop! This is sweet heaven!More

I came for breakfast twice in the last 3 days after recommendations from my host. Cavour lived up to expectations and the rest, freshly squeezed orange and chocolate croissants on both occasions, delicious. Please visit!

Had our Italian breakfast here the three mornings we were in Bergamo. Delicious pastries with crema and once with caramel, excellent coffee and fabulous staff. Lovely clean premises with delicious and beautifully presented treats.

This place caught your attention from the chocolate creations displayed in the window: giant chocolate eggs decorated with sugar gems, Dali's melting watches made from chocolate, mouth-watering desserts, They have lots of pralines and chocolates, macarons and mini-cakes. We had a few treats to take...away and enjoyed every one of them,More

The place is nice and the quality is good but the prices are ridiculously expensive...you cannot charge a tiny slice of cake 8 euro! Or 6 euro for a small muffin-like tart (see picture) . 20 euro for a an afternoon break is too much...(2 cappuccino and 2 small cakes) especially if you consider that there are other good options nearby less expensive (stupid me not to choose on of those ).More

You need to do a lot of walking to walk off all of the beautiful treats on offer. Most places have waiting time before you are seated. If you see a long line you know that it is the most popular. Lovely little cafes for...afternoon tea and most people are very charming.More

My airbnb host recommended I pop in here for a coffee and something sweet. Friendly enough, lovely chocolates selection. When I dropped in a lot of locals were dropping in picking up the baked goodies and cakes orders.

We travel a long distance from Seattle to Bergamo. After we unload our bags at our rental apartment, the first stop is Pasticceria Cavour. The coffee is perfectly served by the friendly staff in lovely china. The croissants are the best I have ever had...anywhere. I especially love the apple brioche. Cakes are available all day and sold by the slice or by the whole cake. They are all amazing. I especially love the chocolate cakes. There are usually 12-15 cakes to select from. In the front of the store are many other candies, chocolates and sweets that can be eaten there or packaged to go. If you aren't convinced yet by my raving about Pasticceria Cavour...all the pastries and desserts are made by the 3star Michelin restaurant DaVittorio, which is owned by the same family and delivered fresh every morning.More

We came here for a mid day drink, the cakes were nice although I did not have one. I ordered a hot chocolate and it was the thickest, richest hot chocolate I have ever had, it was delicious and an experience every chocolate lover should...have!More

The cafe contains two sections; one for standing and one for sitting down to the right. The cafe has a classical style interior with marble tables and wooden cloth back chairs. The waiter in the cafe does not seemingly speak English and no English menu...is available in the cafe but bizarrely is available online. The fixed price menu of €12 whilst reasonable value if you wish to have a large lunch, was pushed a bit too much for my liking. I would recommend seeing the English menu online prior to visiting to get a better idea of what is on offer. I decided to go into the "stand up" part of the cafe and point at the items I wished to have mentioning I would like eat them in the sit down area which was more successful. Another strange aspect is that the items on display at the "stand up" part of the cafe are not all on the menu including the choux bun sandwiches. The beef and horseradish choux bun sandwiches were unusual but worked very well and was enjoyable. As far as I could tell I think only the drinks are more expensive in the "sit down" cafe. English breakfast tea is served in a china cup and teapot together for €3.50 which is about right for a cafe of this nature.More

Choice from 3 main courses, drink, dessert (any of the patisserie items on display) plus coffee; all prettily presented by a friendly and courteous waiter. No hidden extras. Exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended for a light lunch.
