This family-run establishment leaves much to the imagination in terms of service, but I'm not sure what you would expect from a small family-owned business tucked away down Vico Testadoro. The staff speak little English and the menu is almost impassable as they're written up daily by hand in Italian, which is not the easiest to navigate! However, we muddled... More

Your waiter won't speak English, and the menu is in Italian. That would not be a problem, if the quality of the food and the service make up for it. Well, they don't! Surrounded by cold light and walls covered with bathroom tiles, you eat for little money and you get what you pay for. The canteen of your school... More

Went twice to da Mario in a seven day visit to Rapallo. Lovely home made pasta dishes and good fish and sea food. Helpful service from the owners son . Good atmosphere enhanced by the quirky behaviour of the older waiter.

My partner and I went there twice on a recent trip to Genoa. The first time we had pasta. Very basic but great value for money. The second time we had a fried cod dish with chips. The meal came within two minutes and was dried up and very doughy. The cod was battered and the chip looked and tasted... More

They have a handwritten menu in Italian, and the staff does not speak English at all. The minestrone soup was OK, but the main courses were at the level of a bad school canteen. A menu costs 10 EUR (two courses plus one drink) but it really does not worth that.

This place was recommended by the hotel manager where I stayed in Genova. It is open only for lunch and for dinner only on Friday. The food is basic, nothing fancy but served very quick. It is easy to find . Prices are low. We ate 1 primo , 2 secondo and drunk 1 small beer and we payed 16... More

Expect very basic, no-nonsense food and interior. Super friendly staff and athmosphere. You might find the menu difficult to read (hand written and copied) but definately interesting for a taste of the local dishes. Good prices too.

Traditional Italian food at an awesome price. It is like stepping back in time, but the pasta dishes are great! We ate as a family of 8 and the total bill including drinks was €52, such amazing value for money! Try it!

We went late on a Thursday night , sat at a communal table and choose a few dishes which had run out . We settled for a meatball dish , stuffed zucchini , pesto pasta and veal with tuna cream sauce . All were pleased with the choices but I particularly favored the pesto pasta . Wine accompanied the meal... More
