Great place for local food. The menu was handwritten on a blackboard. He waiters were all very friendly and helpful. Before the food arrived a brown bag full of focaccia was brought to us. We had stoccafisso, trofiette con tonno, olive taggiasche e pomodorini and moscardini affogati in umido; all tasted great. The desert, latte fritto (fried milk), was also... More

We managed to get a table though we hadn't booked ahead. Staff were extremely friendly and wanted to help. The menu was hand written that day, I guess, so was a bit tricky to read but the waiter could mangage a bit of English to help us when my Italian failed. Food was fresh, very tasty and authentic. We wanted... More

Once we get back in Genova, we would visit the restaurant again, while 10 years ago, we enjoyed so much this wonderful authentic Osteria. Another boss in charge? The food was a mix (literal) with no recognizable ingredients, and no taste at all. This means the food is pre-prepaired , and the microwave is the real and only cook. When... More

I had pasta with salted cod and pastachio sauce (10 euro) my wife had a pinenut shrimp sauce (10 euro) the kids had traditional pesto (8 euro) It was nice to have non-traditional pasta in a place that was not touristy. Very friendly service. Great wine selection at reasonable prices and some craft beers. Three types of fresh bread in... More

We were told by our hotel that this restaurant was a good choice. They couldn't be further from the truth Although the staff was friendly the food was simply inedible. The food was full of grease and tasteless. Make sure to avoid the house wine as it tastes closer to viniger than wine. Another bad not is the location. Our... More

This place was recommended by our AirBnb hosts and it was very good. We had the mussels and selection of fried fish for starters and let the waiter choose our main and wine. Definitely recommend. Only reason that we didn't give it 5 stars was that it was slightly confusing when we came to pay the bill, we were waiting... More

This is a very traditional place in Genoa. You can try some of the most typical dishes from local cuisine. It is all very good. Good value for money. Try it !

Have just finished dinner there the evening at 19:15 02072016. A big guy was serving me with patience because my English is not good n I can't speak Italian. I feel that the staff are serving without heart n they are robotic..... this is over commercialized. I am not saying they are not good to customers... it is just "no... More

Simply the best, down to earth home cooking you can ever find in Italy. I have been there over 10 times, and I was never deceived once! I suffer from food allergies, and at Vico Palla I know that I will just enjoy myself. Fresh fish, great pasta, wonderful fritto misto, excellent crazy service and the price more than reasonable....
