We headed to Il Pirata after our hike from Monterosso to Vernazza, and boy were the dishes good! Pesto dishes is a must when in Cinque Terre, the place of origin. The seafood were really fresh, I especially enjoyed the prawns! Great meal, and highly recommended!

We had been recommended this place by a patient of mine. She said the food was consistently good and it was quieter than the main centre of Vernazza. This did not disappoint!!! The seafood risotto was fresh and creamy. The seafood amount was great for lunch!! My boyfriend had the pesto gnocchi which was delicious. It is up the street... More

Short walk from the train station. Great pastries and coffee while checking your email. Good staff and the twin brothers really identical twins :)

This is slightly off the beaten path in vernazza, but worth the walk. The owners and servers were very friendly and chatted with us about local cuisine and vernazza. The meal was very good- we had an excellent appetizer and two excellent pasta dishes. If you're in vernazza for a couple of days, definitely make this a stop.

Il Pirata delle Cinque Terre came highly rated by both TripAdvisor and Yelp. It did not disappoint. The brothers who run the restaurant are quirky and entertaining. The service was excellent and the food great! The pesto in particular was amazing. The owner is quick to tell you that there are two things they don't have: a view and eggs.... More

Throughly enjoyed the visit and most importantly the food!!! We're are very fortunate to live close so 10 minutes waiting time was no problem. The food was expensive but totally worth it with the prices ranging from €10 - €15. The food was also serced in only 3 minutes!!! This place is usually very busy with a waiting time and... More

We went to this restaurant on the advice of other trip advisor reviewers and were not disappointed. As this plus other reviews will tell you they do not do eggs! This is a place to come to enjoy Italian breakfast, not an English fry-up! The pastries are delicious, the juice and coffee fantastic and the owner (sorry forgot his name)... More

If you want a view, go to the waterfront, if you want a great meal, go to Il Pirata. You can't have both in Vernazza. A wonderful team who love what they do, enjoy a good conversation with their customers even working through language barriers. Great food, great coffee, great service. 2 grateful Kiwis Cheers

My wife and I visited the Cinqua Terre with two very close friends. We stayed in the village of Muro, and would pass the Il Pirata every morning on the way to Vernazza. We stopped on the way for coffee and decadent pastries. The best food wihout the view, and they do not serve eggs, just eat their food, you... More
