Eating here was one of the highlights of Vernazza. The pastries were awesome. Service was fast and very friendly. Love the place.

We learned this year that mid-day in Vernazza has become a tour-group-filled experience. Quite different than the Vernazza we visited just 3 short years ago. But it's still a beautiful place and if you plan it well - you can avoid the worst of the mid-day crowds by going to places like this one for lunch instead of eating at... More

Breakfast here was recommended by a local friend. Well worth it. And worth it to come back here for desert. The 2 Sicilian brothers that own the place are funny guys albeit with a dry humour. Remember not to order eggs!

Friendly staff that took care of the details. Bread and water provided without asking. Service was quick, seafood and salad was outstanding.

The staff is great very helpful the dinner was fabulous the deserts are incredible, but the breakfast was by far the best I've had on this trip, I love that he teaches tourists to eat like they do in Italy. No eggs for breakfast !

We enjoyed a quiet meal with a starter salad that was good, not great, and then came our main dishes... I had the cannelonni with ricotta and pesto and my husband had lasagne. Both were very rich and flavorful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - they are the reason I bumped this up from a 4 to a... More

My husband and I visited the Pirate twice in our 5 days in Vernazza, so I can compare to a few other places in town. The Pirate was my FAVORITE place for breakfast. They open at 8 like TripAdvisor says and not 6:30 like the Rick Steves book (2016 book) says. The pastry chef is amazing. These are the best... More

My family and I visited the Pirate 3 times during our stay in Vernazza! I highly recommend this place. We had breakfast and dinner here. The pastries are some of the best you'll find in the region. I loved everything I tried, especially the ricotta filled cornetto. The coffee is solid good. Hence, during breakfast you'll see locals stop by... More

Went there searching for a place away from the main buzz. It's nothing special but we felt OK there. The wine was nice and we were happy. But then lunch time came and I couldn't believe the staff. They were actually kicking off the people who came just for a drink or snack! No sorry, simply "you are not eating... More

Turns out places with thousands of good reviews do have great food. Owner said the right way to eat a cannoli is to suck the fillings while fresh!
