Something really went wrong for a recent reviewer to not enjoy this restaurant. We were recommended to visit by a couple of Australians whom we met in a bar in Panzano, Chianti. Thanks to them we had an excellent lunch of Eggplant Parmigiana and Risotto "Il Pirata" Both were excellent and the most enjoyable meal we have had in touring... More

We looked for a restaurant that wasn't quite in the tourist area. This was at the top of the hill overlooking the town of Vernazza. We had house red wine....delicious. The salad was very fresh. We had Risotto with Seafood and mushrooms, and cannelloni with spinach and ricotta... both were excellent. Then we had cannoli... YUM! Service was great.

I went to restaurant after i saw the tripadvisor voting, and i must say, this is again a case where tripadvisor review disappoint me again. I dont know how this restaurant can have such a high score, the food was very everage and the dishes were little!! And it really upset us that we basically paid 9 euros for 4... More

The food is tremendous (both dinner and breakfast - just don't try to order eggs) and Massimo and Lucca are both very entertaining hosts. We had a wonderful dinner there during our 2013 trip so returning on our 2016 trip was a must have. Must have the cannoli for dessert! We even went back for breakfast the next morning (from... More

We were conveniently staying right across the street at Camere Fontana Vecchia, and The Pirate was recommended by our host and we immediately became totally hooked on the most indescribably scrumptious pastries made fresh daily by Massimo and his brother, and combined with their great cappuccinos every morning this restaurant made our day! We loved the sign saying they proudly... More

I'll Pirata is open for breakfast, lunch, and supper. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The food is wonderful! We (2couples) ate half our meals here during our stay in Vernazza. They also have some of the best pastries you have ever eaten. The four of us had a variety of meals from the menu and no one was disappointed.... More

We wish we could have stayed longer in Vernazza just to have breakfast with Maximo and his staff at Il Pirata! The coffee and pastries in the morning are the best anywhere with service that makes you feel like family! We loved the peaches and cream pastries, but they are ALL excellent. After two weeks in Italy, we were really... More

I have meant to write this review since 2013 (website wouldn't let me change the date). Every time we reminisce about our trip we come back to the unbelievable food & funny owners we met at this fun restaurant. Seriously we had a delightful time there and wished it wasn't the last day there when we found it. The food... More

Hidden away in a quiet part of Vernazza, a very unassuming cafe on the street, with the most delicious Italian food. (I loved the sign up something about.. we don't serve eggs, this is Italy, eat out food 😜) We arrived on a rainy evening and the cafe was full, we were given complimentary drinks while we waited for a... We went to this restaurant every day we were in Vernazza for breakfast- they have the best croissant and Danishes- close to 25 different kinds...but you have to get there early as they do run out. The owners are very friendly and the service was always excellent. We went for dinner on our last night and ate so well! We... More
