We were here for a late lunch. The staff was NOT amused that we are there! We ordered one portion Antipasti menu with prosciuto etc. for 15,00 per person. We also ordered one portion Prosciuto with Melon and 2 coca cola. Finally we recieved 6...slices of prosciuto, 3 slices of Melon with 3 slices prosciuto and a bag of (old ?) bread. We have to pay 41,00 euro die this!!! The staff was rudeness and absolute NOT kind!! Please go not tot this restaurant...the are much, much better restaurants where you definitely het more good and friendly staff!!!More

The gnocchi with pesto were very good. Too bad the waiter was not wearing a mask, which in Italy is compulsory by law. When asked, he got upset, nearly insulted me, said that nobody complained until then, and told me that if I was so...scared, I should wear the mask when he was coming at our table. He then started wearing it when coming to our table, and removing it when serving other clients. Furthermore, he was touching and playing with the kids seated at the table next to ours and was then serving other clients without disinfecting his hands. I told the principal, who didn’t care and did not enforced him to wear it. No respect for clients, for people safety, neither for the law. I would like to stress how every other restaurant we went to in 5 terre and Vernazza was 100% respectful of the rules, which made the whole situation at Gianni Franzi even more absurd. A place to avoid.More

I wouldnt recommend this place. Service is extremely terrible. Rude to a whole next level when it comes to non-Italian speakers... Food on the other hand is OK but due to bad service it didn’t taste as it should.

We were attracted by the tables and the people there, however once we ordered and received our food we were highly disappointed with what we had in front of our eyes the dishes were overpriced for their content and the food was badly cooked. Overall...this was a bad experience and do not recommend anyone to eat there.More

Don't forget to ask weight and price for dish of the day. I didn't, and I payed 35€ for 250 gr of tuna slice, it means 140€/kg!

Favorite meal of our Italy trip. I got the pasta with clams and it was just perfect. Still the best tiramisu I’ve ever had.

In the only square of this enchanted small fishing village of the Five Lands Gianni's restaurant is a must. I go there every year in August and food and ambiance is always better than before. The fish appetizers are excellent, then pasta with pesto is...the best worldwide, fresh fish follows and prices are reasonable. You must book before to get a table. Before dinner one must take an aperitif in Gianni's Bar over a cliff and admire the sunset.More

Had lunch here after a visit to the Castello Doria as it is conveniently located by the harbor and along the way back to the train station. The octopus and mussels appetizers were fresh. The anchovies appetizer (salted, to be consumed with bread and butter)...were an acquired taste. Spaghetti Bolognese and vongole were tasty as was the pesto pasta.More

We ended up eating here twice while we were staying in Vernazza. It is right in the piazza at the waterfront. It also was right outside of our apartment. We ate there the first night we got to Vernazza. 3 of us had the Trofie...pasta with pesto sauce. Delicious! And our other friend ordered the black flat spaghetti with prawn sauce. Everything was delicious. Paolo was our server and he was excellent. We were celebrating one of our birthdays and he made it very special for her. They brought us limoncello gelato and a piece of torte. We ate outside that night. Then we ate there again on our last night and we ate inside the restaurant. Once again the food was delicious and we had Paolo as our server again. We would highly recommend this restaurant. But I would like to add that we went in the bar to order drinks and take outside to sit on the rocks and watch the sunset and the staff was not as friendly.More

Our favorite restaurant in Vernazza, we had to eat there multiple times. Wish we stayed at CT longer for the chance to eat at Gianni Franzi. Superb fresh anchovies in lemon, just caught white fish, and delectable homemade pasta and pesto. Sensational eats!
