We went on a wine tasting here. For 15 euros per person, we had samples of several wines along with snacks. Gabriel, the owner, talked about the wine and the history of his place, which was started by his grandfather in 1958. We went back twice to listen to music in the evening and to drink red wine.

Was in Manarola for a week on vacation. We dined at Il Porticciolo next door and the waiter told us about this place and that there would be live entertainment. So we did come to Zio Bramante to see the show. What a charming place. Small and inviting. We took seats close to the stage and saw two different performances.... More

Tried to pay with a €50 note (as that's all I had), he put it in the till but said he didn't have change. I offered to pay on my credit card if it was easier. He took my card and payed with that, but didn't return my €50. When I asked for it back he pretended not to know... More

We stopped here for a last glass of wine on our way back to our accommodation as it seemed like the only place open late. We were drawn in by the music and the people outside. The very friendly lady served up and chatted to us - a shame there was no local red wine available, but was still a... More

Yesterday, 27-5-2016, we ate here according the good reviews. Unfortunately, it was an enormous fraud! They sell prepared food as homemade (pasta, lasagna, salad etc) and then, they heat up the food in the microwave. This has only one name=fraud. We can also buy the same spaghetti prepared in the supermarket for 3 euros and warm it up with a microwave... More

The food is good (really good) and cheap, the owner is a sweetheart, it's open late, they have music: it's the best bar in manarola for sure. We had such a great time at this bar- fond fond memories. Go here!!

Coming from the bar/pub culture of the UK, I felt right at home in this place, in many ways much more like a British style bar than most Italian bars (e.g. pay for each drink at the bar as you go as well as the general darkened room ambience), without feeling un-Italian (I certainly don't want to give the impression... After getting into Manarola super late one night, we asked the hotel owner where we could grab a drink. He suggested La cantina and said, "Just walk down the hill and you'll hear it". And hear it we did. It was such a lively and quirky party. There was a band playing assorted jams, lots of people dancing, and the... More
