First opened in 1915, Torinese is an original Art Nouveau bar, with an interior adorned by works of renowned Triestine cabinetmaker Debelli, as well as other known designers and a bright illuminated chandelier hanging overhead. Its place in Trieste's history was made official in 1999, when it entered the list of historic Italian bars. In 2014, the timeless ambiance was given a much needed shot in the arm with a new youthful management team, whose main focus is on mixing up perhaps the best cocktails in the city. You can also drop by during the day for fresh pastries or a light lunch.

Great coffee and pastries in an ambiance that takes you back 100 years. The wood paneling and mirrors give a look of an old fashioned train car. The grappa list is excellent.

An amazing gem of a cocktail bar. Not just someone in between jobs and just mixing some bottles together. Matteo knows his stuff and has a wonderful selection of different products from all companies big and small, meaning, he's not beholden to any specific corporation...More

This place is worth visiting for the ambience alone but the coffee is also very good. The pastry looked good but we did not sample any.
