I visited LIFE Cafe early one rainy evening for an aperitivo. The glass of prosecco was a small pour, but about average for places in Trieste. The aperitivo dishes are quite nice and spread along the bar, ranging from patatine to sausages to what seemed to be pasta al pesto, and various other things. It was quite nice, but by... More

For Americans who like quality sandwiches and big salads--Whole Foods style--this place is excellent. The women preparing and serving the food work hard.

Great place to begin an evening with an apperitivo. We stood at the bar, were served promptly and with a smile. Small morsels are available gratis. Great music adds to the ambience.

We came in for a drink, but the free nuts and chips helped us stay. Then they served Mac and crab cold salad and a great potatoe salad , all a la carte and free. Those were so good I had the ham and cheese panini that was amazing. So now it was drinks and dinner, haha. Smoking outside, nice... More

Great position, great cocktails and food galore. But, it is the music, that old 50's 60's Sinatra style added to a bit of blues. Thanks to the staff for a terrific night.

Nice stylish, not too hipster, authentic bar/cafe. Coffee, Italian breakfast and sandwiches are good. The bar is excellent. The bartenders are friendly and professional! The have a very wide range of cocktails and longdrinks. At least 20 different kinds of gin. A good range of different beers, the IPA they offered was very tasty. They also offer typical apperetivos and... More

I spent a month in Trieste, living a few steps from Piazza Cavana, and I ate breakfast almost every morning at Life: €3.50 for a cappuccino and a jam-filled brioche. It took only three times before the friendly waitress knew my order without my having to say anything. I also had an aperitivo there many evenings, when it's a lively... More

It's worth asking out this place I'd you're in need of a really good coffee!! It's quite close to the Pizza Unita and provides better coffee than most of the restaurants on or closer to the piazza.

So, if you look at the posted drinks card, you'll see that a coffee is priced at a reasonable 1.10 Euro. But when you get the bill, the coffee is suddenly up to 2.10, which thus includes "a service surcharge". More like a tourist ripoff surcharge... Basically, if you want to be treated like an idiot for your money, to... More

Nice place in pedestrian zone. Service was fast and totally OK. Swepss is šefe in 0.18cl which is funny fire me. Anything smaller then 0.2 is not acceptable accept short drinks. Snacks are good and portion is large. Prenesite chips...price....ok...Swepss and small Italian beer 8 euro
