Usually I do not give five points, but Alexander deserves all five, hands down. Don't go there if you expect to get full on one course, don't expect just a good Pasta or Pizza, although you can get the former. Expect an explosion of tastes,...More

It was very quiet when we arrived here and we felt a bit daunted and wondered if we had made a mistake - nothing could have been farther from the truth. We decided to have the 5 course Sea Tasting menu, which turned into 10...More

By coincidence we stepped into restaurante Alexander just before getting wet from the thunderstorms that were hitting Ravenna today. We were going for something else but that turned out to be a total disapointment (see my review of pizzeria dal gladiatore). Lucky us! We took...More

Delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. Good service, good wine. They give you free little appitizers and (unusually for italy) nice bread before dinner. Makes for a great night out.

You can eat well in Ravenna but I suspect that this is the closest that one gets to fine dining. And it isn't there yet. If you advertise browned scallops then brown the scallops, it really does make a difference to the taste. If you...More

We went there thanks to TA. It's a former cinema now reshuffle in a restaurant. We had fish all of us and it was terrific. Both entree and main course. Very well guided through the menu by the owner. Staff outstanding during all the time....More

There is a highly talented and original chef here. The ambience is fun baroque in an old building once used as a cinema, comfortable and friendly. We had dishes from the a la carte, both very well prepared and presented. My ray wings were tender,...More

Food was average--not terrible, but nothing great. Service was extremely unfriendly and cold. The man (maybe the owner?) tried a little bit at least, but a young waitress working there made us feel very unwelcome. Quite expensive and the food definitely not worth it. There...More

Description
The atmosphere is as sophisticated as an old 40's black and white movie, but at the same time, as inviting, creative and warm as a contemporary New York restaurant. The cuisine, with meat and fish specialities, is characterised by a tradition which has been reinterpreted in an exquisitely creative manner. In addition to the air-conditioned interiors, in summertime one can dine on the outside terrace. The Owner, Sante Milandri has been a restaurant owner since 1982. In 1998 he left "Bistrot Clardge" in Cesenatico (one of the first restaurants on the Riviera to focus on a refined clientele, as well as a younger one) and he moved to Ravenna where he set up the Spasso Bistro. The interior designer and co-owner of the Alexander restaurant carried out the refurbishment work in full respect of the history of the building. The first reports dating back to 1840 when it was used as a residence and later like restaurant. The seating capacity is sixty in what was once the stalls and a further forty seats are available in the circle.
