What a meal... This restaurant is worth a detour and a quick drop-by in Modena. Nothing fancy, this place looks like a very neat mom and pop Italian restaurant which is frequented by both locals and tourists (thanks to TripAdvisor) and serves truly delicious Italian food. Their pastas are out of this world. Friendly staff and great service.

This place is packed with mainly Italian families. It is very noisy and very hot despite 2 air conditioning units. That's the only down side. The food is simple but good. I had the specialty of the city, meats, cheese, a kind of meat paste, spare ribs, roasted potatoes, 2 different types of bread.Far too much for one person. The waiter... More

We actually went here based on the reviews on TripAdvisor (we'd never have found it otherwise - you don't just stumble upon it). The restaurant is cozy and the staff if super friendly. However we both felt like the menu were kinda small. There weren't that many dishes to choose from. The food was alright, but not mind blowing. It... More

Fantastic atmosphere, great crowd and friendly staff. The food is very basic. The best was the cheese, spinach and herbs tortellini. The pasta and the balsamico chicken nuggets were OK, but lacked sophistication.

After 3 days of eating as much quality Italian food as possible we had 2 hours left to find and eat some home cooked style dishes. The hugely helpful lady at emilia design suit apartments reserved us a table at Trattoria ll Fantino. It's just off the main shopping street and easy to find. We were in a rush but... More

Continuing on our 2 week European road trip, we just wanted simple local food, and we were lucky to find this place. For me, this is the best pasta I had in Italy so far. I chose the tortellini with ricotta and spinach, my girlfriend chose the gnocchi with sausage and pumpkin. They were both exceptional, suffice to say I'd... More

Ate here for lunch. 25€ per person prix fixe, unlimited wine and including coffee and dessert. Waiter/owner was friendly and outgoing. More food than the two of us could finish, everything incredible.

We has pasta with rabbit and the softest gnocchi with pumpkin. We also had the braised pork ribs with roast potatoes. Every dish was fantastic. They served tigelle hot from the griddle too. We ended with cherry pie and chocolate sausage. All for under 40€. Must go for any foodie.

After a long day of travel we wanted a quick early dinner on a Saturday night. Most restaurants were still closed at 7pm and at Il Fantino they told us that they were fully booked, but they could arrange for a table if we would be done by 9pm. We decided to stay and it was the best decision! The... More

coming from Bologna for a one day excursion to visit the Duomo, we came here for lunch while the church and the museum were closed (12 to 15.30h). The place is very popular with locals and with tourists, and after your meal you will understand why. the owner is a really friendly and helpful guy, the food is excellent, and... More
