La Traviata was recommended by someone who lives here in Bologna. They were spot on! From the sweet and gracious greeting to the Limoncello, everything was delightful. Tortellini en brodo and taghletel with proscuitto and asparagus, fillet with fresh mushrooms and a veal roast with white wine and orange, heavenly! Profiteroles with chocolate sauce and chocolate cake with marscapone. The... More

This is our first visit to Bologna and we are exploring the cuisine, etc. This was a Lonely Planet pick - we have seldom been steered wrong by this guidebook. Super friendly folks, quiet location not far from Piazza Maggiore. Ragu and lasagne are both big hits. Save room for dessert. Antipasti, primi, a bottle of wine and dessert came... More

We wanted to lunch in a people's osteria or trattoria and after wandering the streets and alleys in downtown we found this eatery. Just like any other small restaurant, it was full of “white collars” so presumably good. We had the daily lunch menu (16,00 consisting of tagliatelle al ragu and chicken escalope with herbs); tagliatelle (9.00) and salad (3.50)... More

We came back here twice during our trip because it was one of the best meals we had in Bologna! The food is incredibly fresh and the ambiance rustic the way you feel when you've stepped into someone's warm home. My favorites were the incredible fried dumplings (crescentines), the tortellini in brodo (broth), the supple fried zucchini flowers stuffed with... More

Just come here for their desserts Profiterole is the best I've had. Bitter sweet choc sauce on a crumbly crust. Of the mains, ravioli with fish stuffings and tagliatelle mushrooms were good.

This restaurant in Bologna is a true Mom & Pop restaurant very close to the B&B where we stayed. Our B&B host recommended it. Manuela is the lady in charge, and although there is a menu, her recommendations are the best thing to follow. She will tell you what was made special today, and exactly which pasta to order. Our... The food was average and expensive for what it was. Considering the cost it came in very small portions. In addition they charged three euros per person, the so-called 'coperta' charge which is a practice I disagree with. Overall if you're having dinner in Bologna there are better options

We have just returned from Bologna and ate here Saturday night as it was close to our hotel and had reasonable reviews. The service was ok, the older lady presumably the owner was great very hospitable and recommended practically everything on the menu. I tried to order a bottle of wine with the young waitress whilst we looked through the... More

Went there for dinner and the service was terrible... they did appologize for forgetting us repeatedly but it didn't change the fact that we waited over 30 minutes just sitting at our table with nothing but water. Not really in a rush the food could of totally made up for the service ... but it didn't. The zucchini blossoms were... More

The experience was all we had hoped for, and a little more. Followed the advice to try the specials, and the dishes were outstanding. A very busy and cosy atmosphere, what a family run restaurant should be. A true taste of Bologna.
