I booked this before we arrived in Bologna, based on the reviews. What a disappointment. Having ordered starters each (party of four 60+), and two bottles of wine, we eventually received two starters which two of us started. The other two didn't arrive by the time they were finished, nor had the wine. As it was likely after another 10... More

We booked this restaurant for our friends birthday as it was highly recommended by Tripadvisor and the hotel. Walking past the restaurant on the wine for pre-dinner wine it looked a little out of the way and quiet, however on returning for dinner it was full of people, atmospheric and looked lovely. There is no menu, our waitress just reeled... More

This was our blow out meal on a holiday that pretty much revolved around food. My boss recommended this restaurant as a great place to eat in a city of restaurants. It was absolutely brilliant from the minute we stepped into the portico. The wonderful owner, Emanuele, welcomed us, showed us to a corner table and proceeded to pour a... More

A converted Drogherie making an atmospheric and delightful restaurant with pavement dining. The menu will be recited to you and I can say that whatever you choose you will NOT be paying over the odds - just order what sounds great that night. Upon arrival you will be GIVEN an aperitif and the very helpful waiting staff will advise on... More

Minutes from our apartment in a quiet street with Bolognese porticos, this was a perfect first night supper. The food was simply cooked but delivered on flavour. Service was welcoming and attentive. We had two courses and a bottle of house wine and our bill was €95 which I thought was quite expensive.

Emboldened by the reviews we set out to find this unique restaurant in the back streets of central Bologna and were not disappointed. We had not booked on a Friday night but were offered a cosy seat inside as all tables outside were reserved. The whole place was full by 09.00 so do book or arrive early to avoid disappointment.... This was recommended by our hotel receptionist, and backed up by a very favourable review in the (British) Sunday Times. My wife and I ambled along in the afternoon to check our booking for the evening and were invited to sit and have a glass of wine with Emmanuele, the owner, who was in full Italian comic-opera mode, busy -... We came to Bologna to enjoy the local food and we were recommended to this by a local. It has made our holiday- Consistent delicious local cuisine with generous hospitality without the pretence/fuss of some of the other up market restaurants. Food good , service good, value good. We eat here three nights out of the six nights we were... More

And yes this has become a popular restaurant because it's good. Both nights we were there (thurs and sat) there was a good mix of local and tourist. No one was turned away and the atmosphere was (is) great. The best lasagna I've ever had and a range of really good starters. Main courses are great, scallops, fillet beef and... More

Drogheria della Rosa was our favourite dining experience in Bologna. The food and service were excellent, pasta with zucchini flowers, Guinea fowl and balsamic steak the standouts. We were given a glass of Sicilian white wine on arrival, and had a lovely wine recommended by our waitress. The experience was greatly enhanced by the theatrics of the owner, who chatted... More
