This was our best meal experience in Italy! The food was delicious- no menu but they talk you through it. We went for lunch and it was a very local feel. The owners were so hospitable - when they found out it was our honeymoon they went above and beyond to make our lunch special. The ragu was delicious and... More

The food and setting of this restaurant is very good. But what makes it special is the relaxed and generous atmosphere that the owner creates. As soon as you arrive the staff pour you a glass of apperitivo and bring out anti pasti (no charge). The owner casually chats to the different tables which leads to the tables talking to... More

We had a good evening here. Whilst slightly worried about the 'only eat what is available' positioning, we found that there was sufficient available to allow for a reasonable choice. The owner is certainly a character. He attaches himself to every table providing his wit and wisdom and strongly-held opinions on life, food, wine and everything in between. I can... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant with high expectations given that it had been recommended by our hotel concierge and featuring in our travel guide as well. Unfortunately this restaurant clearly has become a tourist trap. Very expensive, amateur service. The owner stands outside like a statue and does not contribute/help his staff to make sure the customers are... More

This was my third visit and previously the food had been superb - there is no menu but this time, high season, it was overpriced. The service was excellent and the food mediocre - it was not good value for money whereas on previous occasions - winter and spring it was quite different. It was very popular and the host... More

We had our last dinner here after three weeks on vacation in Tuscany. What a restaurant, great food and the atmosphere so good, with superp informal service. We choosed their specialities accompanied with local sangiovese wine, picked by the owner. By the way an excentric man who pays lots of attantion to his guest. Eat here, and you will definately... After getting a bit lost finding this place we were warmly relieved by the staff and proprietor who read us out them menu for the day - we had steak oil + steak with veg and potatoes and Orecchiette w/ lamb ragu - this was nor before a complimentary appetiser of salami and mozzarella. Good value and very tasty. Table... More

Just when I thought I'd eaten in the best places in Bologna, my friend taunted me with Drogheria for a few months. On my last visit I finally delighted my taste buds. On a beautiful balmy evening sat outside, with a handful of locals and a cool glass of lambrusco frizzante. Much like the evening the proprietor and staff were... More

Wow! Phenomenal lunch. Old school service--owner sat with us, directing every move of the staff. Love how in Italia there is not often that "whisper-yelling" seen in North America, but just straight out yelling, or maybe loud direction from the owner ;) He did a great job of looking out for my cow's milk allergy. There was white wine, a... More

Excellent food from bologna. If you don't speak Italian, this may be a bit hard for you. There is no printed menu, so you'll need to hear it from the waitress and understand what is proposed. The chef or owner came regularly to check on us, made us taste side dishes now and there, decided the (very good) wine we... More
