Unfriendly staff, ok food

Food was good, but was a bit expensive for what it was (pasta not cooked properly, 2 pieces of bread for 10 euros. ) unfriendly staff who also took a long time to properly serve us. Wouldn’t recommend going

We enjoyed a very nice lunch here.

It was raining and we were hungry, so I asked for lunch suggestions from folks inside a very nice little grocery, overflowing with tortellini. They sent us here, a small, rather casual place, not a lot of atmosphere, but with an inviting menu of regional dishes. We ate inside. The service was efficient, if not particularly warm, and the pasta dishes were very good indeed. The tortellini en brodo was great, as was the really delicious gramigna con salsiccia (gramigna is a hollow tubelike pasta, here a combination of green and plain, in sausage and onion sauce). There are other places that might have better, warmer service, but we enjoyed a very nice lunch here.

Nice lunch, unhurried

Stopped for a light lunch on Sunday. Nice food - I had the “misto salami e formaggi” plate, which came with crescenti (fried bread pieces) which I did not expect and were delicious as an accompaniment. The service is friendly, not particularly fast, but you’re sat outside on a hot, sunny Sunday lunchtime in Bologna - what’s the rush??! Bonus of a great location and people-watching. Would be happy to go back.

Terrible Service and Rude Staff!!!!!

If I can give this place 0 starts, I would. Avoid this place at all cost, the staff is incredibly rude and disrespectful. The waitress reacted negatively towards me when I said I don’t eat pork and would prefer dish with no pork. She aggressively grabbed the menu from my hands and started tapping the menu with her fingers to suggest vegetarian dishes in a very rude manner. I then asked her if the restaurant served fish or chicken and she rolled her eyes and shouted at me to make a choice asap. I quickly ordered roast of the day with chicken as I was very uncomfortable with her tone of voice and aggression for rushing me. Moreover after we finished eating the first course, we had the empty plate in front of us for approx. 45mins and although other people walked in the restaurant after us their plates were collected orderly and were served their second courses. After 45 mins, we decided to inform the waitress who kept walking past our table to kindly pick up the plate and serve us the second course. Although requesting the waitress to pick up the plate she decided not to do so and as a result we chose to leave and not even eat our second course because the service was terrible. After paying for the first course, we realised the restaurant charged us for the first and second course although we informed the cashier that we will not be staying at the restaurant to have the second course. This was the worst service we have ever received in Bologna! Please avoid this place if you are looking for a great food experience. :(

So Good!!

My husband and I found this small Osteria and I was very happy. It was our last night in Italy and the best meal that I had the entire trip. The lasagna was unbelievable. The place is small, kitchen is upstairs and there is a dumb waiter to bring down the plates. I watched a lady bring in a box of mushrooms and take them up. Fresh!

Possibly the worst place I’ve eaten in Italy

Let’s put this down to tiredness or laziness. My wife and I had travelled from London and had been up since 03.30. Bologna is a wonderful city and there are plenty of restaurants, but because this place was busy and our legs were tired we took a table sitting outside when the air was still warm. We waited for 20 minutes for a menu and the waiter said they were busy. After 30 minutes we ordered a salad to share and then a plate of Polpette (meatballs) The salad arrive nearly one hour after ordering (guess they were waiting for the leaves to grow). After we had finished this the waiter asked if we wanted some oil to dress it, We then waited another 45 minutes for the meatballs but only after my wife suddenly and surprisingly went into the restaurant and shouted at the waiter ( never seen that before) and the dish arrived. In the meantime some people were getting their hot foo and others were getting somebody else’s dishes.. The place is a complete mess, the food very average and we weren’t the only people complaining. A couple next to us asked for their bill and it was for dishes that they hadn’t asked for - the bill would have won a prize for the best fiction of 2022. We were so fed up that I couldn’t be bothered to argue about the €4 service charge - we didn’t have any. Please don’t go here, they don’t deserve your money and there are plenty of better places to eat in Bologna. I wish that we had read other TA reviews but feel slightly happier to know it wasn’t anything personal as lots of other people have had a bad experience here.

Terrible experience

The meals we ordered were good and tasty but the service was terrible. We waited for 45 minutes before they got our order: they took us the wrong drink and after 20 minutes we asked for the dessert we understood they forgot about it. There was only one waitress and she was mean and annoyed towards customers for no reason. Other people near us went away after an absurd amount of time spent waiting for someone to take their order. Near this place there are lots of other restaurants. Go there and forget this place.

Worst place to eat

Really bad . For sure not recommended. We ordered two dishes of pasta and we were waiting more than 2h. Additionally, they brought the dishes separately (the second came half an hour later ) The service was rude and the quality not good at all. It was one of the worst places we ate in Italy.

Original tagliatelle al ragú!

I had a lovely meal at osteria del podesta. I came to bologna to try the original tagliatelle al ragú and I can say the dish tasted great! I can’t say anything negative about this place. Service was good. I had a bologna craft beer (not quite sure) it tasted nice but it was a bit pricy. I would come back any time!

Probably the worst restaurant experience ever

We came to Bologna earlier today and Ate our lunch in an other nearby osteria. It started raining heavily later on in the evening and because of the rain we ended up here. One should learn that is the way to find yourself in the worst kind of places because once again it happened. My mother and her boyfriend ordered main courses and side dishes. The side dishes arrived 7-15min before the main courses. The meat they has was the worst quality, very chewy and not tender. The pasta I had didn't taste like anything. My boyfriends roast of the day was just like plain bad meat stew. All of the foods came at different time and all in all it just seemed like a chaos in the restaurant. If we should pick something that was good? Walter, beer and coka cola. In addition to the bad food, the service was also unbelievably bad. At one point my mother tried to vall the waitress, two times, and she just simply ignored. Actually this happened two times with her. At first she was just so rude that it was funny but the second time around we just got simply so pissed off it wasn't funny anymore. And when you add the fact that it was also quite expensive.... Well... We felt bad for ouselves. We went else where for a 3€ pizza afterwards and it was DELICIOUS. If you're considering going here? Just don't.

Not sure how much difference there is with sidewalk cafe restaurants. The first one left me sitting for 12 minutes after seating so I arrived here. Drink and meal order placed at 6:35 (within 7 minutes) and then the waiting started…25 minutes pasta and salad delivered. Hard to mess up a salad but…olive oil is in little packets—huh! Lose a star Pasta was dry but okay. Lose a star Pay for meal with a credit card…ya gotta go inside. Aggravating lose half a star

Quality food ant reasonable prices in a city centre

I freely admit we don't normally frequent restaurants in main tourist areas of a city but we made an exception in this case. We arrived quite early for lunch and the restaurant was empty inside and just a couple of people outside. We ordered a Ragu Bolognese, Swordfish carpaccio and a bottle Pinot Grigio. The food and the wine were excellent and very good value for money. We loved it so much we went back the next day and tried the platter of cold meats/cheeses and a Tortilini in parmesan cream sauce and a bottle of Pecorino (a wine I hadn't tried before). Suffice to say we were not disappointed. The restaurant was much busier this time but the service remained good and there was a minimal wait for the meals to arrive. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere was lovely. We would definitely use this restaurant again.

Good food but very busy

We sat inside as there was no social distancing at all outside. The restaurant was very busy and it took a while for us to be served. I ordered gluten free tortellini with a nut sauce which was divine. I was also given gluten free bread (which was still warm)

Lasanga was not a restaurant grade

The lasagna was not good with fresh ingredients even I can cook better. Crescentine was not comperable with other places. P/P was not good so way better places available in bologna. I don’t advice and don’t come again.

Nice food great location

We had the tagliatelle a ragu, and a caprese salad. Food was OK. The Bolognese sauce tasted same as at home, not restaurant special (or maybe our home receipts is very good..). The plus is their gray location for sitting on the street.
