Don't go there if you're looking for elegance and a refined service. Go there if you want to taste the real thing in Bologna! Do not miss "tagliatelle al ragù" which are very close to perfection. Same thing for "crescentine": light, tasty, not greasy at all. "Tortellini" are also very good. I was just a bit disappointed by "cotoletta bolognese",... More

I visited this restaurant for lunch with a friend. We were seated very easily (it was still only 12:30pm, later it got much more busy). We ordered the tortellini en brodo and the tagliatelle al ragu, and went all out and got dessert as well, creme caramel and zuppa Inglese. The food was absolutely delicious. All up it was €38... This is a fantastic place for Italians and tourists alike. The food is fantastic and the ambiance is amazing. The host, Max Dynamite, is such an awesome guy. You'll feel like eating in a true Italian house.

We were advised to go there by a friend from Bologna, se when we went off the train we walked straight there. It was almost 2pm (hour which it was said they were closing the kitchen) and made no reservation. Nevertheless, the owner welcomed us in and got a table ready for us. He recommended us the best dishes and... More

The service was very good in this restaurant but you do need to book in order to get a table. Our pasta dishes were delightful particularly the gnocchi dish. The main course was a little less interesting but still quite enjoyable. Thevguu staff were very friendly and helpful. This is definitely a local restaurant not aimed at tourists.

This is a perfect place if you need to grab lunch in between trains. Filled with locals, we were the only Americans there. Good food and a good price! I recommend. It for sure.

I read about LGDNA over on Leaveyourdailyhell.com, Robert Schrader's trustworthy travel website. He has never steered me wrong, and figured this time would be no different. The food was absolute perfection. Easily top three meals I've had in Italy. The owner, Max, is very funny and is a professional bass fisher (what he called "same to the typical American hobby")... As the title states, this place offers delicious home cooked style food. I am pretty sure the cook is the main host's mother. The host is a welcoming jolly gentleman who knows enough english to help you and serve you. Recommended foods: the crescentine, tagliatelle in ragu, tortellini in broth, and home made lasgana

Our hotel recommended this restaurant because it's very popular amongst the locals. I believe it! We didn't make a booking and were sad to find that it was booked out! But Max, the English (Spanish/Portuguese/Russian) speaking owner, managed to squeeze us in. The food was everything we were hoping to find in Italy. The tagliatelle al ragù (bolognese) was exceptional.... More

I am from Bologna, my mom is an amazing cook, both my grandmothers were (one still is, God bless her) amazing cooks, and my wife's mom is an amazing cook. So, I am "a bit" spoiled when it comes to local cuisine. This is why I skipped the "primo". My friends had lasagne, tortellini & "tagliatelle del giorno prima" (tagliatelle... More
