We came to Tonino for a pizza on a Sunday evening and the warmth of this local trattoria taunted us to try something more. So we decided to share a plate of 'strascinati' in a sauce made from tomatoes, mushrooms and pancetta. Divine! The pizzas were also to die for. There is a slight wait for the food but it... More

This is place where mostly local people eat. I guess their best options are the ones with seafood because every table I've seen has ordered meals with seafood. We also ate risotto mare, a big plate of various sea food like shells and shrimps. It was real good. Pizza was very good. We paid 42 euros for a pizza, a... More

This is located a little bit out of the main historic city centre but it's very convenient if you're visiting the 'MAMbo' modern art gallery. Very good authentic pizza and good service.

If you want authentic Neapolitan delicious pizza, this is THE place to eat! I cannot fault the pizza, it was truly the best pizza I have ever tasted, bellissimo! We visited following recommendations on TA and it did NOT disappoint! We started with the prosciutto e melon which was juicy, tender and utterly fabulous followed by the Margherita DOC which... Quite possibly the best Neapolitan pizza I've had outside of Campania. The AVPN certification isn't a fluke, everything is about as canonically perfect as one could possibly hope for. We ordered two pizzas, one fancy white pizza with braseola and a few other toppings, but the DOC margherita was the one worth dreaming about. Absolutely perfect crust, soft inside, crisp... More

We both had 2 fantastic pizzas on our first night in Bologna, and ended with an excellent espresso. Wine was good as well. And that for only €30!

Very nice and friendly place. The owner, Gelu, welcomed us like we were family and even took us to see how Pizza is made, gave us tips about the ingredients he uses and were to find them. He is always there, greeting everybody with a big smile on his face. He also made a special pizza just for us, a... More

I wish we found this earlier in our trip. It is the best pizza I have ever eaten. The staff was so friendly and genuine. I would love to try some other things like the great looking octopus salad and the mussles. Those looked wonderful. But our insalata miste and neopolitan style pizza for two was great. The crust was... More

When an Italian sommelier tells you that he had one of the best pizzas in his life in Bologna then this restaurant is a MUST. Tonino is famous for its pizza (Naples style) and fish (the owner is originally from Ischia). We had the lunch menu for 8 Euros and enjoyed one of the best pizzas in our life. The... More
