We had had our fill of pasta, salumi and cotoletta and wanted somewhere special for our last night in Bologna. Being August a lot of the recommended places were closed so we were delighted to find this lovely restaurant just round the corner from our rented apartment. It's location in a charming little street was a bonus and we were... More

It has been some time since I have fully enjoyed every single dish, but it happened when we were having dinner at Battibecco. The service was absolutely great and we have enjoyed every minute of this great dinner. So if you are looking for a great meal, look no further!

We wanted a special place for a delicious Italian meal and were amazed that this restaurant was just around the corner from our hotel. We all had three courses all of which were served with great style and beautiful presentation. The suckling pig I had was really tender and tasted delicious. We had a memorable meal which was a bit... More

Found this place by chance and very glad we did Got a space outside which was definitely worth it. Service was excellent - very speedy, attentive without being oppressive. Food was also delicious - amuses bouches were a nice touch. I had pan fried duck liver and my partner had scallops, both were cooked and presented beautifully. Mains were similarly... More

We visited late on a Tuesday night following TripAdvisor reviews. The staff were welcoming, willing to help us choose meals and explain ingredients (essential for a dairy allergy) and also professional - it was a thoroughly different experience to the run of the mill trattoria. The menu had different options and interesting meals. Price quite expensive at 20-30euro for first... More

I found this place through a Huffington Post article on line describing new cooking styles applied to traditional recipes. The food was excellent albeit more expensive than other restaurants we went to, but then it was more interesting. Standards that we ate included scallopini and excellent local meats and melon, with the more ambitious items including calamari and aubergine pasts,... More

This was, without doubt, the best food we ate in Bologna ... and we had researched where to go before leaving home. We were pleased that the restaurant had an informal atmosphere even though the food was top notch. Interior decoration is a bit of a 1980s(?) period piece ... but none the worse for that.

Well worth seeking out on a quiet side street away from the main square. As it was a warm summer evening we ate outside but the dining room is clearly quite stylish. This is a cut above the normal restaurants and was the best meal we had in terms of quality of cooking during our visit to Bologna and Rome.... More

Battibecco is a lovely restaurant with a Michelin star. This was our last evening during our visit to Bologna, and I picked this restaurant because we wanted a great last meal to end the trip. We had high expectations, but unfortunately we were disappointed here. The service was correct, but cool, and the dishes just didn’t seem to be Michelin... More
