Having seen the pasta being made further down the street, had to try the tagliatelle with ragu, marvellous. As was the gnocchi with Gorgonzola. Mains of roast lamb and roast rabbit came with potatoes but we should have ordered a side of vegetables.
A lovely...well priced bottle of Sangiovese accompanied meal brilliantly.
Then came the reason for 5 stars, a baked apple with marscapone on local cake. This was on the house and was a great mix of flavours and textures. Our very poor Italian then resulted in two red dessert wines appearing which were a sensation, we were only trying to find out whether the fish was a local specialty. As these were also complementary, a good tip was earned by the very pleasant and welcoming staffMore
