I guess the best thing you could say about the place is that you could do worse. On the plus side, the place is airy and bright and has a nice atmosphere about it. The food itself is average, as is the service. On the minus side, prices are somewhat high for what you get.

I'm only giving this place 1 star because I can't choose to give it none... Very disappointed by the lonely Planet's recommendation of Gina. The place itself is quite cute but that's the only positive. Service, food and drinks were terrible. Over priced and not at all good. Coffee was weak, cold and not tasty, bruschetta was thrown together without... More

Through the internet I found GiNa and the possibility to order a picknick basket. You can wait for it for a couple of minutes, it's not cheap, but so worth it! You can walk up to Villa Borghese and have the picknick in the park. Great food! Great service!

Was seated at a dirty table by a sneering waitress who then ignored us in favour of the next two tables to arrive. Left without having our order taken - if you aren't wearing Prada prepare for poor service.

As it was my 3rd time in Rome (and my first wedding anniversary), I had been researching some different things to do during my trip with my husband. I'd always wanted to visit the Borghese gardens and had heard that Spring was a popular time for picnics. After a bit of searching I found out that this restaurant (5 mins... More

Passed by a few times but they are closed for dinner service. Finally had the opportunity to step in for lunch. This is a busy joint but staff seems chirpy despite the crowd who seem to be mainly locals, one of the few Italian bistros where service staff actually smiles. They are efficient with orders & food is served fast.... More

Stumbled across this small restaurant by chance on the way down from the Gallery Borghese. Packaged full of 'chic' Italians which is always a good sign. It's not cheap but you really do get what you pay in Roma. The 'Junior' with Focaccia bread sandwich and the Mozzarella, Parma ham and cherry tomato salad were both to die for! Finished... More

Gina was a restaurant that I found with my friends when I was walking around downtown. We were near the Spanish steps and we found a cute little restaurant half way up a hill. It was a great place to get a quick bite to eat. The restaurant is filled with very artistic paintings on the walls. They have white... More

We had lunch it GiNa and thought it was a nice, rather hidden place next to the Spanish steps which is not that crowded as the rest of the area. The food is good, however, nothing special, but that's not what this restaurant strives for - it's just a nice place to have coffee, a glass of wine and a... More

We waited until 11 because that is when they were supposed to open. It looked nice from outside. When we arrived at 11.10 they said they were still closed as their bread delivery had not arrived. I asked how long it would take: half an hour, perhaps, the waitress said, with an Italian shrug of the shoulders so we gave... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
