My wife and I went here while visiting Rome. There are many good restaurants in Rome but Antica Pesa is exceptional. We were seated outside on a great summer evening. The tables were nicely spaced so you felt you had your own space. We started with great martini cocktails. The food was very good and we never felt rushed although... More

Pros: - the atmosphere - the location - the garden is very nice - the desserts were interesting Cons: - service - a glass of wine was spilled on the table, but the waiters didn't changed the table cloth - food was average - we had very high expectations regarding the dishes, but better food can be found in locations... We went there with our 8 year old son. The lady at reception got us a table although we had not reserved and it was busy on a warm summer evening. The food was very nice and different from the ones we had in central Rome. We had veal and pasta with bacon and mozarell and ham starter and the... More

We had a delicious meal at the Antica Pesa. It was so nice to sit on the terrace. The mozzarella and prosciutto was delicious. My sea bass was very good. The service was very friendly.

Fantastic! Arrived at 9pm without a reservation and instead of turning us away they gave us a glass of prosecco while we waited for a table. 15 minutes later we were seated at a beautiful outdoor table. Food was delicious and the wine was amazing! Price was very reasonable too. I expected the final bill to be similar to fine... More

It seems Hollywood stars from Al Pacino to Madonna, Scarlet Johanson to Michael Douglas, Will Smith and co... have all agreed that Antica Pesa is a brilliant way to start off your Roman experience. The selection of wine is exquisite. Top class.

We had a dish with lamb and one with chicken. The quality of the meat was poor, just flat in taste. Seemed like cheap meat from large-scale livestock farming. I would certainly expect better considering the prices in Antica Pesa. Also, I got the main dish brought to the table before I had finished the starter. And... the door in... More

I had a good dinner but comparing to other places in Rome it was average at best to be honest, the pasta was good, small portions burnishing spectacular. They have pictures with a lot of artist at the entrance and the terrace is very nice for a romantic dinner but that's it.

Food was very good. We dinned in the court yard, it was very nice! The service was ok. I felt rushed at the beginning of the service then ignored at the second half. Wine list is over the top. Not sure if I would be rushing back.

Description
Giving always attention to meet the changing course of the latest trends, the restaurant has the culinary agility to anchor the current fashion to the heritage of the rules and quality of the food products, maintaining the delicate equilibrium between discretion and popularity. In this way, we assure our guests to be present, without appearing. The original customs officer and the modern host, preserving the historic mission of the place, have been followed by a family known as connoisseurs of taste: the perfection of the proposed cuisine, offered in an ambiance enhanced by the beauty of the great artworks and the meticulous attention for each guest, so to guarantee an exclusive atmosphere combined with the warmth of a comforting familiarity. Our guest, no matter from which movie set arrives, or for how long hasn’t come, is always welcomed with a smile, a shake of hand, a delicious meal accompanied by an excellent wine and with the warmth of the art surrounding this fascinating angle of Rome. We know well that what the body nurtures is not foreign to the soul.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
