We are from New York and first found Antica Pesa by their Williamsburg, Brooklyn location. Lorenzo Panella, is one of the sons who started the Brooklyn location, but the mother ship is in Roma. Needless to say, we had to visit and Lorenzo was kind enough to arrange a VIP welcome. The space is charming with an outdoor garden with... More

Been here before and it was good. Went there this weekend with my husband and although the food and ambience were nice this is clearly a crazy busy restaurant and by the end we were so annoyed that it ruined the whole night. The service just disappeared, literally. Didn't get the coffee and tea we ordered so we gave up... More

Be sure to make reservations! They were kind enough to squeeze us in because we arrived early. The outdoor terrace area is so beautiful and romantic. The wine list is extensive and the food is excellent. Start with the gita fuori porta- such a fun presentation! Service was on the slow side but it was a perfect night to linger... More

We had a beautiful dinner here to celebrate my cousin's wedding. The staff was gracious, welcoming, and attentive as required for a festive occasion with many generations, at least four languages, and many people together at one large table. Incomparable service, gracious and elegant environment and attention. The private room, with frescoed decoration, was inviting and seductive. The quality of... More

We had heard such good reviews of this place that I was worried that it could not live up to the hype. It did, and surpassed them. Everything was fantastic and even though this was one of the best meals that I have ever had (in any country) it was nowhere near the most expensive. We had a four hour... More

Staff was very friendly. Food very good. The evening was lovely and dinner was served outside in the terrace. Very nice. Many Americans. Would definitely be lively during the summer

Trendy Roman restaurant. Nice outdoor seating. Not touristy in the least bit. Decent wine selection. Unfortunately, Food was just average for the price point. Wouldn't recommend it given all the other opportunities in Rome

Not a great meal. Fish was way over cooked. Had to send it back for them to redo it. Second time around it was cooked properly but not very satisfying. My husband had the pasta which was so so. Atmosphere in the garden was pleasant but I did get some mosquito bites

When deciding where to enjoy our last dinner in Rome, we intially wanted to try the michellin star Imago, but I am so glad we chose this restaurant in the end. We sat in the open terrace area with romantic lighting, and the service was much better than elsewhere we had experieced in the whole Italy. We order fig and... More

Giving always attention to meet the changing course of the latest trends, the restaurant has the culinary agility to anchor the current fashion to the heritage of the rules and quality of the food products, maintaining the delicate equilibrium between discretion and popularity. In this way, we assure our guests to be present, without appearing. The original customs officer and the modern host, preserving the historic mission of the place, have been followed by a family known as connoisseurs of taste: the perfection of the proposed cuisine, offered in an ambiance enhanced by the beauty of the great artworks and the meticulous attention for each guest, so to guarantee an exclusive atmosphere combined with the warmth of a comforting familiarity. Our guest, no matter from which movie set arrives, or for how long hasn’t come, is always welcomed with a smile, a shake of hand, a delicious meal accompanied by an excellent wine and with the warmth of the art surrounding this fascinating angle of Rome. We know well that what the body nurtures is not foreign to the soul.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
