It seems Hollywood stars from Al Pacino to Madonna, Scarlet Johanson to Michael Douglas, Will Smith and co... have all agreed that Antica Pesa is a brilliant way to start off your Roman experience. The selection of wine is exquisite. Top class.

I had a good dinner but comparing to other places in Rome it was average at best to be honest, the pasta was good, small portions burnishing spectacular. They have pictures with a lot of artist at the entrance and the terrace is very nice for a romantic dinner but that's it.

Food was very good. We dinned in the court yard, it was very nice! The service was ok. I felt rushed at the beginning of the service then ignored at the second half. Wine list is over the top. Not sure if I would be rushing back.

You have to book in advance here, it's very popular and rightly so. We sat outside on the patio. The food was sublime and the service was impeccable. The wine list was comprehensive. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant!

First of all, the patio seating is charming and service is stupendous. There is no doubt about it! The wine list is great, but man, oh man, is it expensive! Like $200 to $300 a bottle expensive. There are great bottles of wine to be had for 30 bucks in Italy, so, yeah....think about that. The food was good. It... More

Staff very attentive -we had two, a waiter and waitress. Constantly felt we were in danger of getting everything twice because although they were good at communicating with us they didn't seem to communicate with one another. Food tasty and plentiful. A tad expensive. Forget the wine list, just ask for a recommendation -saves time and your eyesight.

Description
Giving always attention to meet the changing course of the latest trends, the restaurant has the culinary agility to anchor the current fashion to the heritage of the rules and quality of the food products, maintaining the delicate equilibrium between discretion and popularity. In this way, we assure our guests to be present, without appearing. The original customs officer and the modern host, preserving the historic mission of the place, have been followed by a family known as connoisseurs of taste: the perfection of the proposed cuisine, offered in an ambiance enhanced by the beauty of the great artworks and the meticulous attention for each guest, so to guarantee an exclusive atmosphere combined with the warmth of a comforting familiarity. Our guest, no matter from which movie set arrives, or for how long hasn’t come, is always welcomed with a smile, a shake of hand, a delicious meal accompanied by an excellent wine and with the warmth of the art surrounding this fascinating angle of Rome. We know well that what the body nurtures is not foreign to the soul.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
