During a recent holiday in Rome, we stumbled upon this terrific restaurant not far from the Spanish Steps and it was like entering a large family home. We did not have a booking but, being early, were able to secure a table for two and were fortunate to do so as the restaurant filled quickly and any number of people... More

Being in the outside terrace was extremely enjoyable. The food first quality, the wine choice, first class. I will definitely will be back.

We booked here for lunch last Sunday and were initially concerned about it being buffet only. We needn't have been! This is "buffet" Italian style - great food, plentiful and various. Staff were very welcoming. Somehow it felt more like we'd been invited to a family lunch. Wine, bread and coffee were included in the price (added in a glass... More

We heard rave reviews about this place, and we were pretty let down. The food it good, but not in an extraordinary way. I've had way better French food. Also, the price is pretty inflated. We ordered lamb, but did not get a meat knife. We are not savages that chew bones in restaurants, so a good portion of meat... More

Babette was by far the best meal we had in Rome. Tucked away, amongst the lanes between the Spanish Steps and Piazza Del Popolo is this hidden gem offering a beautiful, relaxing dining experience. We booked for lunch sitting out in the beautiful private courtyard shaded from the sun enjoying a la carte mouthwatering dishes. Everything we ordered was delicious... More

Babette was our best dinner experience during our recent two week visit to Rome and Florence. Food, service, and ambience were all excellent. Highly recommend. One caution: it appears to be very popular so best to book in advance.

My wife and I turned up early on a Sunday evening without a booking and we're lucky to get in. Be warned! Very nice location in a quiet side street. Nice decor, attentive friendly waiters without being over the top. Nice menu and to top it off the food we had was excellent too! I had the veal cotellete which... More

We had a great lunch buffet. Well prepared, tasteful and many options. Service was fine. Prices a little too high for the lunch.

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
