The best place to see the politicians and people that count.Talking seriously the place is the best restaurant in town and deserves the title. My humble opinion only confirms it.

As Rome's only three star restaurant, this is a place one should certainly visit once. And one will be impressed by the view, the menu, the cellar and the overall co-ordination and the surroundings. And charmed by Heinz Beck who generally greets the leaving guests. However, during a return visit one is more likely to notice the dated interior, the... More

When my husband found out he was going to Rome for a business trip, I e-mailed Alla Pergola right away to make a reservation. They replied the next day saying they were booked solid but would put me on a wait list. I figured we didn't have a chance because I requested a Friday or Saturday night. After touring around... Average food (not particularly impressive) and even more average service. When we asked one of the waiters ( not sure if he is the sommelier as he doesn't act like professionally) how we should choose between two wines, he just pointed at the more expensive one and said that one is better. And that was it. I can do that.... More

Perched atop a hill overlooking Rome in a beautiful hotel was Pergola. I wonderful dining experience from start to end. I did not feel they were sitting on their Michelin laurels at all. Dynamic and engaging dining experience. Absolutely a must to taste through one of their degustation menus. Excellently presented food with exceptional flavor profiles. Not a one disappointed.... Amazing view - amazing food. Simple Roman dishes cooked to perfection. The drinks are splendid, the bread is amazing, the pasta!!! Yummm. It's a restaurant that shouldn't be missed in Rome. I would stick to the appetizers and first course. The main course was just good. The cheese and desserts also should not be missed. Enjoy.

We dined here with my husband's parents who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The service and the food were outstanding, and with a view of Rome to die for I was glad we booked this month is in advance back in Australia. Definitely try their signature dish of the Fagottelli, each parcel is a little flavour bomb that goes... More

We had the ten course dinner which was truly a surprise for every course. Texture, presentation, innovative, ambiance was truly amazing. The staff was the most friendly I have experienced in Rome. E.g. The waiter who served the bread was truly having pride and joy in his work. The only reason why I was doubting about the 5 stars is... More

Description
One of the best restaurants in Rome, if not in Italy, La Pergola is much more than just a famous menu. Its three-Michelin stars - the only Rome restaurant to be accorded such an honour - attest to the excellence of its cuisine. A wine cellar with over 53,000 bottles, a water menu with 29 choices, olive oils and vintage balsamic vinegars from the best producers in Italy, and the finest ingredients to be sourced in the Mediterranean -- all attest to the pursuit of culinary excellence.

In the last decade the major Italian gastronomic guides such as L'Espresso, Gambero Rosso, Bibenda have consistently voted La Pergola the "Best Restaurant of Rome" and one of the best in Italy. Since November 2005 the Michelin Guide has honoured La Pergola with 3 stars and 5 forks, symbol of exceptional cuisine and "worth a special journey".

Furthermore, the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences has awarded La Pergola with the coveted "Five Star Diamond Award!" Each year the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, renowned worldwide, bestows its coveted International STAR DIAMOND AWARD exclusively on five star establishments that are deemed to be of pinnacle quality by its esteemed Board of Trustees. The award is the most prestigious emblem of achievement and true quality: an award many strive for, but few obtain.
