We were a group of 8 people, I went with my family to celebrate an event. It was a Tuesday evening a couple of weeks ago and our table was booked for 8:30pm, the restaurant was quite empty. There are different rooms, we were seated on the main terrace visible from the road. We had a table with a view.... More

Each time that you go to Rome, I eat at least once in this restaurant. The terrace is superb and the food fantastic. Staff is also very kind. They are even ready to prepare something that is not on the menu. The funghi porcini are wonderfull

I would probably have given this a higher rating except for the fact I had to make a fairly urgent trip to the the bathroom a couple of hours after dining here and can not put it down to anything else unfortunately. It was probably the mixed Fish Starter which was tasty enough, followed by a very good Veal Limone.... More

Walking around this part of town at about 8pm we decided to pay Consolini a visit as my partner loves good seafood. I'm not a huge fan but they have a good meat offering here as well. Coming out of the lift the first thing we saw was a man in an office. That was a new one on me... More

Built into a hillside above old ruins (which you see through a glass floor) this place has a romantic terrace and excellent food at affordable prices. It's off the tourist path so you find mostly Romans there. Make reservations for dinner since it is normally full. Seafood is the main theme but you also find other types of food. We... More

Not a tourist trap...and a bit off the beaten path. Friendly greeting with a sparkling wine and nibbles. Clientel are mostly local and staff are friendly and helpful with selecting from the menu. Octopus and squid starters were excellent and followed by tasty main courses (sea bass wrapped in potato crust & shrimp risotto). Half bottle of good white wine.... More

We read the reviews and decided to book a table for two in advance, it might be worthwhile at times but frankly we needn't had bothered as Restaurant was almost empty.. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance during the daylight hours however as once inside it is much more presentable. We were warmly received with pre dinner drinks and... More

Recommend by a friend who lived in Rome, a crowd of 8 of us went for dinner on our last night and were delighted with both the food and the service. The mixed fish starter was stunning, the main courses superb. We asked for a recommendation for the wine and were delighted with the suggested wine, especially as the price... More

Very good italian and mediteranean cuisine, sea food was excellent, starters baked eggplants with cheese worth trying, shrimp risotto was tasty but could not find the shrimps. Main course excellent sea bass.

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
