We visited Rome for our honeymoon and our friends reserved us a table at Il Margutta as a wedding gift. I'm a vegetarian so was delighted to eat some really exciting and delicious vegetarian food whilst in Rome! We enjoyed this restaurant so much, we actually ate here twice!! On the one night where we had our reservation, we went... More

Restaurant is fab, very sleek and modern in a very quiet setting within centre of Rome. Food is beautiful and some of the best vegetarian and vegan food we ve ate. Imaginative, inventive and elegantly presented. It would have been five stars if it weren't for the service which was over relaxed and slow and let it down but it... More

Visited with my vegan/ vegetarian family and we all found the food to be bland and too expensive. I got the tempura vegetables and the batter was too thick and they tasted like dirty oil out of a fish and chip shop. The vegan garden burger tasted like a non specific thick hummus dish. The only passable dish was my... More

My husband, two kids and I went last week and will never go again. My daughter and I are vegan and son is vegetarian. We all got different meals and non of us ate it! It was bland, dull and tried too hard. It isn't worth it and is too expensive.

The vegetarian buffet is quite good, desserts too, the whole experience is pleasant, and the service too was fine. Recommended!

They offer an extensive menu that I was sorely tempted by but resisted as the lunch buffet looked so immense and varied at 15 euro. The range of hot and cold dishes was very impressive and it all tasted really good. I enjoyed my 3 course meal here. Staff were efficient and friendly. The card machine was not working properly... As a family of three non-vegans but not unfamiliar with no-meat-dinners now and then we decided to give this vegetarian restaurant a try. We were unsure on what dish to select, also because we travel on a budget allowing up to 15 euro per person per dinner session. Restaurant's staff was very helpful in selecting satisfying dishes because leaving a... More

The hostess was seriously snooty when we arrived without a reservation. That was a turn off. The servers were terrific though! The food was wonderful! Awesome seitan! The chef surprised us with complimentary radish mousse as an appetizer. Again, try the seitan! The price is not bad if you avoid the wine & liquor.

Me and my fiancé went here during our visit to Rome because we are both vegetarians, we were in the area and our Lonely Planet guidebook recommended this restaurant. Granted, the guidebook didn't raise it to the skies but we thought it would at least be good, since it was mentioned at all. It wasn't. At best, the food and... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
