While researching pizza in Rome, I kept coming across La Gatta Mangiona in Trastevere. It’s a little out of the way deep in Trastevere and requires a cab ride but it is definitely worth the trip! The Neapolitan style pizza was amazing, 1 with anchovies...and 1 with spicy salame. It has a very fun neighborhood atmosphere with families, friends, etc. I did not hear much English being spoken. I would recommend making a reservation as it got very busy especially after 8:30. We ate inside but there was outside seating as well. Highly recommend it you’re looking for something other than Roman style pizza!More

Located in Monteverde La gatta mangiona is always a safe bet when it comes to eat pizza in Rome. Perfetto for family or groups , it is always bustling with locals seeking classical Neapolitan pizza cooked in a wood Oven. La gatta mangiona serves classical...and gourmet versions of pizza all made with seasonal and high quality toppings, special flours and long fermentation process. Fritti, dessert also deserves to be tasted. Staff is friendly and attentive.More

We came with reservation and if you wanna come you have to have. Although we had a reservation they said no places inside, no place anywhere, dont wait and go; but we came about 10 Km for this restaurant and we askedfor outside than we...sat. Waitresses are so kind people but the manager of the restaurant is a rude man. Food are good but you can findbetter ones in the center of roma because it is far from and I am not sure about Is it worthy to come all the way for this food and behaviours.More

Love their pizzas. Carbonara was delicious. Had a glass of artisan grappa. Overall wonderful service. Can be a little hard to find. Nothing much nearby so suggest making reservation.

During my one month long stay in rome we ate pizza every single day, and this was the best neapolitan style pizza i had not only in rome, but anywhere.

Great Pizzeria! Started with bruschetta, the one with pecorino cheese and one with cherry tomatoes, all fresh really tasty. As pizzas had a margherita (daughter), she was very happy. My b wife had the funghi, excellent and I had the one with salame piccante, to...die for. Prices are quite ok and service us friendly. I recommend to make a reservation.More

I heard about this place and saw a thing on YouTube about it. We wanted to get away from the tourist areas of Rome. We found a bus that took us about a block away. We didn’t have a reservation but they seated us immediately....The server we had was really nice, thoughtful and attentive. The food overall was good. The menu was in English and Italian. Coming from California the prices were similar. We just ordered from the various courses and shared. I enjoyed the pasta carbonara and the pizza. It was a Tuesday night at about 7:45 PM, it was busy, but not too busy.More

This is a great neighborhood restaurant, off the tourist route, that offers very good food at reasonable prices. There are daily specials on a chalk board and a menu in English for those who don't read Italian. Overall, I think it is a great find....The suppli specials were great and the pizza was very good. The crust is thin, and although soft is on the chewy (not soggy side). Service is quick and pleasant. It's a small restaurant and the tables are generally not used more than once an evening, so you must make a reservation. The restaurant is off the tourist circuit but is accessible by with the #8 tram (direction Castaletto), the H bus, or the 44 bus (which stops right in front). Enjoy!More

We went with a group of friends to have dinner, the host was really rude with us and told us every table was reserved and the place was empty... we went straight away from that place

Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is
Rome’s popular "getaway" neighborhood, coveted for its

from the center to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday
and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos.

HI there, as far as I know there isn't any online booking with this restaurant. But they do have tourists who don't speak Italian, so I guess you can call them to make a booking in English!
