We found this place by accident and were happy we stopped in for dinner. The grilled mixed meat plate was plentiful and tasty, as was an order of grilled salmon. More locals than tourists, which made for a pleasant evening.

The worst pizza ever in Italy, staff not wiling to work, the place is not so bad. Price are ok. There were tourists mostly, i like to know that places are choosen by the italians. So not so reccomended.

Bad, inattentive service. Average food. Not really worth it. But the location is very convenient, that's why many people walk past and sit down. I did that and... Wrong!! So that's it.

We had dinner there on our last night in Rome. We ordered only starters cheese, salami and bruschetta, which were ok. Can't really comment on the food, but the service was horrible. I have never ever had in my entire life, a waitress walk away...More

While in Italy this summer, this became my go to restaurant. I ate here probably 5 times in 6 days. The spaghetti Bolognese was very good, but I highly recommend the Tonnarelli Cacio e pepe. Additionally, this was my spot that I hung out while...More

Ordered the risotto and a pasta. Both dishes were very good, although they took a little while to arrive. Service was good at first, with the staff being helpful and polite (inquired about gluten free, there isn't any gluten free pasta/pizza). Was quite busy when...More

Ordered the grilled lamb, chef smashed the cutlets causing the bones to go through the meat. Not very enjoyable.. Friends had an enjoyable meal though..

Such a great little restaurant that we stumbled across by chance. Very friendly staff and the food was absolutely delicious! We were all very happy with our meals.

Description
Just off the heaving via del Corso you will find an outpost of civility and authentic Roman feeling in Al Vantaggio. Founded in 1920, this traditional eaterie was originally a tavern for carriage drivers, but now has a much more comfortable ambience half-paneled walls, 17th century style frescoes, white tablecloths, artfully folded napkins, air conditioning. Run by a pair of brothers who grew up with this restaurant and are dedicated to it, Al Vantaggio is a relaxing and elegant place to enjoy a true Roman kitchen with a few Calabrian twists. Dishes include a rather spectacular spaghetti con frutti di mare, rich oxtail stew, and home made tiramis. Italian wines complete the picture.
