Piperno came highly recommended, but can't figure out why. Food was good but the service was so bad it left an awful taste in my mouth. The staff made us feel totally unwanted and were borderline rude. Won't go back if it was the only...More

I wanted to love this restaurant but just couldn't. It came highly recommended. The little square where it is located is cute, but the ambiance of the restaurant itself is lacking. I thought the food was good but nothing special. The artichokes were good, but...More

After hearing and reading about this restaurant for years, we finally had dinner there last week. We had, of course, heard about the artichokes and they were good but, after several meals in Rome, not distinguished. Or at least not distinguished enough to compensate for...More

As far as Rome goes this place is par for the course. The food is subpar if your not a local. The artichokes are excellent but the rest of the food is overpriced and average quality. I should have known because this was our second...More

The restaurant was warmly recommended to me by Romans. But the place is not that great, not that well located and the food is simply average. You can definitely find much better in Roma. The environment is not fantastic

Located in the Jewish ghetto, it has a family-run restaurant feel to it. This place is about fresh food, tradition and history. Their specialty is artichoke, which I personally never liked before till I visited Piperno. A jump in the past in Rome; tripe, tail...More

This place has delicious food and is obviously an institution with a lot of character and history. We arrived with a reservation. Host looked us up and down, walked us past our table in the front room, took our name card off the table, and...More

Hi Barb S. As other Trip Advisors have suggested, its a fair distance/walk from St. Peters and i would personally take a taxi. Re the language...we had absolutely no trouble in conversing with our waiter.
