Before visiting this restaurant we read many negative comments about the service which made us doubt whether to go. Please don't let it stop you! Pizza and other dishes (we tried some fried starters also) are great, service is fast. They dont bother with a chat simply because the restaurant is packed, especially around 9pm.

This place was recomended to me by a itailian I know whose family is from Rome. The pizza was excellent and it is filled with locals which is always a good sign! Would recommend for anyone looking for authentic itallian pizza.

As recommended by family the pizza here is excellent. We sat inside which was nice. Quite a long queue to get a table so you know it's good. The house wine was nice and service was fine. One of the best pizza places

Found this restaurant in an online article about great places to have pizza in Rome and it did not disappoint! I had fried mozzarella to start - very generous portion and really tasty! We both had pizza for our main course and both pizzas were excellent with lovely fresh ingredients. Go earlier in the evening as it gets very busy... More

Came here years ok and loved it, now like most Roman places they don't seem to care. Staff were poor and un friendly. Pizza was just ok too, ingredients did not seem that fresh. Max 5/10.

Visited as recommended by Lonley Planet, and indeed the waiters were 'gruff and fast' as described. Its a bit noisy on the street, not a scenic spot really. But the Antipasto plate was excellent.

I have been advised by concierge to cone to ivo and it is a good choice. The buffalo bill pizza is excellent. The pasta is also excellent. The location and setting and ambience is not wow though. I recommend if you are for food tasting of pizza and pasta in rome.

We had an amazing evening in Ivo a Trastevere, you can sit outside, but as the tables were full we sat inside. Waiters were running around, but spoke English and were friendly. We started with an excellent Beef Carpaccio, bruschetta with tomatoes, Parma ham with buffalo mozzarella which was all amazing. For mains we had pizza, my teenager said her... More

We were very badly treated by the waiter . We were ten people in a very tight table, when we ask for another table , he threw our way. Worst experience we had in Rome . Definitely , there are better places to go , especially in Trastevere .

Okay so we've eaten pizza and pasta all over Roma for the last week and I'm here to tell you that this place is great! We just spent three hours in the back room with the air con and a LOT of locals and we ate and drank and had the time of our lives! It's slways packed and noisy... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
