Okay so we've eaten pizza and pasta all over Roma for the last week and I'm here to tell you that this place is great! We just spent three hours in the back room with the air con and a LOT of locals and we ate and drank and had the time of our lives! It's slways packed and noisy... More

Ivo is a place where I have pizza and pasta since 15 years. Actually - although I hardly try - I have never been at place, where found a better pizza capriciosa than at IVO. I know some of the waiters (and the owner) since decades - friendly, charming, competent. People love to sit outside from spring to fall to... More

Probably the restaurant that took the longest in my entire stay in Italy, but the food was worth it. The pizza is simply amazing.

Went with my family on our last night in Rome. Good job we got there early as filled up pretty quickly with tourists and locals. Simple food done well and service very good despite the numerous covers. My saltimbocca really did melt in the mouth and my husband's spaghetti alla carbonara filled him up. Saved room for the tiramisu and... More

This is a crwoded joint, a very popular pizzeria full of locals and tourists - and for a reason: the pizza on offer is stupendous. The dough is thin and tasty, the top is abundant, rich, and the flavours are beautifully combined. Exceptionally good. And the atmosphere? Well, some people may not like a certain rough-and-ready element, the noisiness of... More

...good food, typical Roman fare.. fried zucchini blossom, carciofi fritti, bruschetta.. ..interesting, amiable staff... ideal for lunch if you keep it on the light side... try to sit as close to the street as you can... and enjoy your pizza or pasta as you watch people go by... just as nourishing...

Poor service and ordinary food. Outdoor tables were rudimentary with plastic chairs. Rome is full of same kind of restaurants, or much better in fact. We were disappointed.

Great Service, outdoor tables, the "fritti" are a very good appetizer A thin roman pizza as the ancient romans had.

We were big fans of Baffetto and Dar Poeta, but on our 5th trip to Rome we thought we'd try something new. We are HUGE roman pizza fans and pretty much eat taglio for lunch and pizzas for dinner for every meal when we're there. We ended up at Ivo three times in our short trip, it was so stellar.... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
