Our favorite priest recommended Il Matriciano and did not disappoint. Although it was not crowded on a Tuesday night, so not a lot of atmosphere. The dining room is comfortable and bright. Definitely a local place, away from the tourist areas. Our server was prompt...More

We were in Rome only one night; and our hotel recommended this place as authentic and not “touristy.” I ordered a signature pasta dish. Unfortunately, the pasta was not cooked... yes, I like al dente, but this was crazy! When I told our waiter, the...More

The restaurant was recommended to us by Roman friends and we were not disappointed. A full restaurant (inside and outside) and yet no tourists aside from us. Food was authentic and particularly the pasta dishes were very well prepared and to die for. Service was...More

The food was wonderful at Il Matriciano, especially the various types of pasta. The waiters were very attentive and we loved the atmosphere! Prices were very reasonable and I highly recommend this establishment.

It was our first dinner in Rome and it did not disappoint. Good service. Delicious food. Lovely house wine. Will definitely eat there again when I go back to Rome.

They really make good pasta here, this is a place where I go if I want to have pasta. Cacio e Pepe is a favorite, though the ricotta and spinach ravioli is great too.

When you stay away from tourist traps, which are usually located very near famous places like St. Peter's square, Fontana Di Trevi, etc.. you end up eating like Romans do. This is the case of Il Matriciano, a very nice locale in Prati, with very...More

Love this place! I chose this as my last meal after 8 months in rome. The very best almatraciana and cacio e pepe in rome. The place is elegant but simple. Classy but not over priced. And accommodating....we wanted watermelon....we got watermelon....the juiciest I've ever...More

Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is
