Upon the recommendation of the concierge of our hotel we went to Antico for dinner. A true gourmet dinner. Our appetizer, dinner and desert were spectacular. A can't miss opportunity when in Rome. The service and wine selection was second to none.

We chose this restaurant based on a Conde Nast Top 10 list that featured it and I have to say that I was quite surprised. So as not to sound too harsh, I do have to say that my truffle pasta dish was absolutely delicious and I really liked that they brought each of us a small portion on a... More

This is the kind of place that will likely get a star in the future. Unprepossessing surroundings, but delicious innovative food and super service. We were 7, with 4 on the tasting menu, and it was handled gracefully and well. The new wine waiter was extremely knowledgeable (r my husband) and steered us well to excellent mid-range wines. Each course... More

This was one of the better dining experiences, not of our trip, but of our lives. We had pecorini cheese for starters, and it was great. Then we had the risotto, and we can have absolutely no complaints, it was amazing. The highlight, however, was the dessert. I had yoghurt mousse with rasperry ice cream, and it was the best... More

it was not what I expected. The place is not charming, the food is only ok, the service is good. I wouldn't be back.

I came here with work colleagues. It's nicely kitted out inside, and has a nice atmosphere. The menu isn't exactly Italian, but rather fine dining that would fit in any city. We were given a mini gazpacho to begin with, like an amuse bouche. A lovely touch was that with our main dishes, they also provided a few small tasters... More

Everything we ate was delicious, including all the different breads in the basket. I had the pasta carbonara with truffles, after reading the reviews, and it was fabulous. For main course the grilled prawns were very good and so was the filet which my husband ate. Dessert - don't skip it - the chocolate souffle was nice but my husband... More

We were 3 friends that enjoyed a very good dinner at Antico Arco. We were staying at a hotel nearby and just popped in. That was a good choice. Best food we got during our Roman Holiday. The Brunello 2010 was also fantastic.

Staying in Monteverde

Neighborhood Profile
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighborhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centerpiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the center to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
