We are from California, USA. We flew more than 14hr to Rome to visit Vatican city. On the first day at Vatican our family had a very bad experience with SA.MA Cafe. I do not know why they are still in the business. I have been warned food scam in near St. Peter Square..I did not believe that bad, unhonest... More

We stopped for coffe after long Vatican City tour. The waiter touting out front charmed us over. We had coffee, Gluten free pizza and some pastries all ok. Wanted to make a point of leaving review as the Waiter and his father who owns cafe were so sweet and welcoming, they sang happy birthday to my mum and made a... More

After a long flight we discovered this café near the St Peter’s Basilica/Vatican. We thought it would be a good place to have pizza and beer for brunch without spending a lot. We were extremely well looked after by Marmum and Andrea. We ended up staying for lunch, spending about 4 hours. Service was excellent and the food was tasty... More

If your looking for somewhere to eat which is cheap, good food, a buzzing atmosphere and great staff then this is place for you. We went for the €7 option of pasta, drink and a coffee....very good value for money..it was everything I expected from a small cafe and more, the staff run around and are very loud( but in... More

After being harassed all around the street to eat here and there by waiters on the street, we finally decided to stop and it was as this weird little cafe plonked near the walls of the Vatican City. We weren't expecting much as the prices were cheap and the menus looked old and not appetising, but we were wrong. Food... More

For a small Café, the SA.MA., in a very touristic zone like San Pietro is very cheap, fast, clean, and good. On Via Di Porta Cavalleggeri 21. Its freindly, smiling and handy waiters and especially low price compared to others in the zone, makes it the right place to stop when visiting, the Vatican museum and all it concerns.

I stopped by after a long trip around the Vatican museum and Saint Peters Basilican. There was a nice atmosphere although it is on quite a busy main road. For me it did not live up to some of its trip advisor postings, which I normally find very reliable. It may be because I had gnocchi, which I'm normally not... More

Stopped in after a tour of Vatican. 8€ for Pizza, Bruschetta and drinks x 2 aint bad. But pizza was bland, staff were a little rude and pushy, and restaurant a bit dirty. But price was not too bad for just a quick stop-in.
