Having found this place via the helpful suggestions on several websites, we decided to make a reservation via our hotel concierge. Since it was a Monday, I don’t think it was necessary to make a reservation, the patio area was full, but the inside of the restaurant was nearly empty. We were greeted warmly by the bartender and asked if... More

Having been recommended by the hotel we happily went off to Osteria 44. We arrived to be asked if we had a reservation, which we didn't, however, after a couple of minutes they said they would fit us in. This seemed rather strange as the restaurant was half empty and remained so throughout the entire time we were there! Can't... More

We stumbled into this place by accident and thank god we did . The mozzarella was the best we had so far on our Italy trip and all our dishes were good. The service trumped the food though with the severs being curious, polite and fun. we also were greeted by free perseco !!! Awesome

My husband and I spent a delightful evening here on the recommendation of a friend. When initially sitting down we were greeted with a glass of Prosecco, and light palate teaser, and fabulous service - so when we went to open the menu I was expecting some high prices - not at all. Pastas were 10-16 euro; seafood/chicken were 14-18... More

Went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel concierge and staying a few blocks away found it convenient to walk to. I read the trip advisor reviews and they were excellent so decided why not. We were greeted by the owner and he asked us (5 of us) if we wanted to sit outside but we elected to... More

Went back on purpose and was not disappointed. First ate here in January 2016 at the recommendation of St. Regis Hotel. Wanted to go back in July for my own birthday. Reservations probably best; Osteria 44 fills quickly. Sergio sat at our table for a few minutes to welcome us and visit. He asked what we liked and then snatched... More

A really, really outstanding restaurant. Our favorite dinner restaurant in Rome. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff - especially Sergio the very kind and gracious owner, and Victoria our primary server. Very nice outdoor dining area. Fantastic wine list. Delicious and outstanding food. Very fair prices for the quality. (we spent 50 euros on food and 50 euros on wine for... More

This was my hands down favorite restaurant in Rome. From the moment we left all I wanted to do was go back and eat there again. We were treated exceptionally. The owner came out to meet us and we had a lovely chat. A glass of prosecco to start and grappa/homemade lemoncello to end our meal. Both on the house.... More

A great place for pasta. I loved the specials for the day. Try the swordfish pasta, was a treat. Loved the concept of having half of a pasta so that we could have the second main dish. The lamb chops were simply wonderful. Great service

Recommended by the St Regis, this was our favorite spot for dinner. Owner on hand and offered great suggestions after learning more about what we were looking for. Easy to see that he is more focused on a quality experience above all else. He's a bit of a character, which adds to the experience. I'm not a wine guy, and... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
