Ordered the beer battered fish and chips. What arrived was clearly frozen and straight out of a packet. I could do better myself at home. Only saving grace...my husband enjoyed the guinness.

Our hotel in Rome did not have a bar. This is a problem when you are on a weekend getaway for the sole purpose of unwinding (no YOU have a drinking problem). Clutching at straws, we asked our receptionist if there were any decent bars nearby. The George Byron Cafe was mentioned as it was just up the road. We... More

Called in here just for a beer but noticed Fa cup match being played,as we are fans we decided to stay and eat and drink more. Food was pizzas, burgers etc but they were very tasty and good value, would definitely return.

Great place. Service was excellent. We were served with complimentary sandwiches when we ordered wine glasses. Recommended.

The live music was great. They had a guy with a guitar playing country music. The atmosphere was a intimate pub. The best part was the tiramisu. It had a rich coffee flavor with lots of chocolate sprinkled on top. I would definitely go back for dessert. The only downside was that the waiter was cold to us. It might... More

A nice bar with good atmosphere. Small and busy. Have only marked average as one member of staff was really rude. Clearly had a chip on his shoulders about being a waiter. The others were nice.

Stopped there to rest my legs over a coffee and the music was excellent and the staff spoke excellent English. At first I did not notice that in the back it served as a restaurant. Ended up eating there. The food was good value for money. Will go back again

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
