Stopped off here after Vatican. Sat up at the bar which was fun to watch all the comings and goings. Ordered beef carpaccio which was enormous and then a salad which was equally as big. Friendly staff who were very helpful with the big menu...and chatting as I was by myselfMore

Everything about this restaurant is top quality. The service was friendly with excellent recommendations. The wine was a great choice by our waiter given the style we requested, and at EUR20 a bottle, great value. The ham & buffalo mozzarella was fantastic and the pasta...dish mains were also top notch. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.More

...I wish I were sitting there RIGHT NOW. We like to go to Il Sorpasso for lunch, and sit at the bar. My wife, Mrs. Sothoth, claims that the meatballs are a transcendental experience; I stick with the fish offerings. And, of course, the wine....Bustling place with great people-watching. Lunch for two = 20 euro.More

Found this by chance after a long day at the Vatican area...we were early enough to get a table and had good service and EXCELLENT food. Was surprised at how reasonably priced the food is in Rome and considering the quality! Met another tourist who...found the place a few nights before and have come back almost every night for dinner. Place packs in, say 7pm on, with the bar busy in front and into the street with a lot of people when we left....traveled with husband.More

We visited Sorpasso Vin cafe' e cucina for a glass of wine and a snack, and we must say this place is great! Excellent selection of wines and snacks. It is a place that many wants to go to, and we were lucky to get...a seat outside. People were standing all over the street with a glass of wine, waiting for a seat. The employees are really service minded, and makes sure that everything is good. They even brings you some free snacks/tastings. The only minus is that we didn't spend enough time here. Looking forward to visiting this place again, when back in Rome. If you are looking for a cozy and authentic wine bar in Rome, this is the place! Highly recommend it.More

Delicious food with excellent wide variety of wines. The location of the place is very nice and you can enjoy the sun sitting outside. The staff is helpful, easy-going and very very friendly. I totally recommend parmigiana alla melanzane.

My girlfriend and I had an excellent experience on Il Sorpasso last night. We walked by randomly and saw so many people outside and in the bar area of the restaurant - drinking wine and eating different snacks. We walked past the crowd and into...the dining area in the back which was also filled with people but we got a table for 2 hours. The atmosphere, food and wine was amazing. The dinner was made even better with the very committed and talented waiter we had. He took time presenting the menu and was interested in conversations about food and wine in Rome - he even gave us some of his favourite spots in the different areas. Thank you so muchMore

Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is

gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but
that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets,
