We met up with a group of friends while travelling here one evening, after a recommendation from friends back home. A warm home-style restaurant with friendly attentive service. The highlight for me was the antipasti - we had a large group so asked the waiter to bring whatever plates he thought were best. We were all impressed - it was... More

My first night in Roma and had an amazing authentic Italian meal. Service was excellent, super friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was even better. My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach as it was a struggle to walk home so full! I'm travelling solo, so to be given a beautiful rose on departure made my night! Grazie La... More

Great service throughout...a little bit out of the way for most tourists I suspect but worth the effort for good simple food, and in particular a tiramisu that I will dream of for a long time...

The priest in the church next to our hotel recommended this restaurant. We had huge plates of pasta for around nine euros. Staff were friendly and attentive despite being kept very busy. There was a good variety of food but fish seemed the most popular. we will go back on our next visit to Rome.

We were advised by our hotel manager to visit La Cantinola and sure enough as soon as we walked in they knew who we were and where we'd come from (amazing what a quick phone call can do). But it was fantastic. The staff were delightful and the service was great. It was so typically Italian it was almost surreal.... More

Excellent restaurant as well as the service. We spent our last night in Roma there and we tried the full package: antipasti, prima piatti, secondi piatti. The quantity was really big and the food excellent. The personnel look well after you. The price might look slightly higher than some other restaurant around some point of interest but there is definetly... More

Welcomed with a friendly smile. Beautifully, cooked and presented food at a reasonable price. In our short stay in Rome, this was by far the best restaurant we visited.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
