We started with a shared bruschetta entree. The pasta all'amatricciana and also pasta con le vongole were our first courses. I then had the Manzo alla crema di Tartuffo a tasty Tenderloin steak and my partner the cotollette con patate. We had a steamed artichoke contorno which was delicious although the cotollette a little dry. I finished with a millefoglie... More

If you are in the Monte Verde area in Rome this is a must visit restaurant. Great wine. Outstanding Italian food and the ambience both indoor and outdoor is wonderful. Try the pasta and the fish.

This little restaurant remains off the beaten track,in one of the prettiest residential areas of Rome,it is attractively furnished and welcoming. The cuisine is Roman style and the fried antipasto is light and delicately flavoured, the wine list offers a good quality of red and white,at an acceptable price range.I had a cacio e pepe, which was very tasty and then for dessert,... This restaurant came on the recommendation of a friend who lives in this very pretty, peaceful area of Rome. We hopped on the number 75 bus which left us at the top of Via Poerio and walked a few meters to the restaurant. The decor was pleasant, soft colours and lighting and we were served by Bruno, friendly and helpful... More

Stopped in for dinner at the recommendation of the host of my apt rental. I ordered a spaghetti with cheese and pepper, along with a mixed salad. Everything was good, as was the service. Its hard to rate a restaurant just based on pasta.. I could have said just 4 star, But I couldn't find any negatives. It was a... More

I am an expat living in Rome and lived briefly on this street so used to go this restaurant fairly regularly and always found it to be wonderful. In Rome so many of the eating establishments are similar and the best are those that just go that extra distance - and this is one of them. they are always friendly,... More

We ate here on two occasions in December 2012, the waiting staff were very helpful and spoke great English. The food is classic Italian and really tasty. The prices were more than reasonable. Not touristy at all and well worth a visit.

This was a real experience, and unexpected. A warm welcome every time, with helpful staff who spoke both English and Spanish, which we did not expect out of the city centre. The food is obviously authentic, popular with local people and delicious, in a relaxed and tasteful decor. Surprisingly the prices were lower than other local places, but the eating... More

An Osteria in the middle of the most exclusive residential zone in Rome managed by nice and helpful staff. Good starters at € 8,00 on average (I tasted tortino with goat cheese and pears), delicious tonnarelli cacio e pepe for € 8,50 (abundant portions). Bread is very good. The wine list is limited, we choose a Negroamaro for € 18... More

we stayed in the area - Monteverde Vecchio - a little away from Trastevere without the crowds. This is modern but welcoming and some great pasta. We enjoyed rabbit, veal and deserts as well. The wine list could perhaps have more choices in the mid range between 25 and 50 Euros.

Staying in Monteverde

Neighborhood Profile
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighborhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centerpiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the center to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
